On the other hand, the draft is a crapshoot, and they crucify him for "failures". In this year's draft, there are only 59 prospects who project to eventually be a "plus starter". That's not even two rounds worth of players.
Even as successful as this draft seems at this time, if this plays out the way NFL.com projects, we would net the following:
1 Pro Bowl player
2 players who will eventually be plus starters, not day 1
1 good backup who could eventually become a starter
3 players backup or special teams players
The Eagles are a top 10 organization since Howie started as GM over a decade ago. Howie is also a top ten GM. Both have up and donw years, but in the long haul, both are quality.
