Here's one man's opinion of how we made out this week with the draft day activity. For details of the grades, I posted in the threads started by Eyrie and others with the pick announcements.
AJ Brown Trade = A-
Draft: #13 Trade up and Draft of DT Davis = B #51 Draft OC Jurgens = D #83 Draft of ILB Dean = A + #181 Draft of LB Johnson = F #198 Draft of TE Calcaterra = F Signing of 12 UDFA's = A
Overall Draft Grade = B
A nice solid few days for the Eagles.
It looks like to me that we are transforming to a 3-4 defense with the drafting of Davis and the UDFA signing of Elliss and the linebacker skills that we signed. We'll see.
If anyone wants a copy of the draft compilation, just message me your name and e-mail address.

I'll play.
Brown A+, Davis A, Jurgens D, Dean A+, Johnson B, Calcaterra C and UDFAs A. Missing a CB and S though brings my overall grade down to a B.

I'm confused why both of you gave Jurgens a D. Mikey wanted Kelce's replacement higher, a guy who apparently a pretty good judge of the position thought wasn't as good as Jurgens. Personally I'd rather they had made a move for a S or CB in the second. That said, I'm happy Howie seems to have had a realistic view on the team and when they'll be ready to be truly competitive. That Kelce has been involved in scouting his replacement would seem to indicate his retirement will likely be pretty soon which adds some justification for the pick. If he retires after this season and his mentorship of his guy is successful, the OL should remain solid. Look for LJ's eventual replacement next year.

Jurgens is grade D because we didn't need a C with Dickerson already here, it was at least a round early to take him and we had other needs. I checked briefly and it looked like there had been a run on DBs in the early second round so there may not have been value in addressing the secondary there, but Roseman could have traded back to get an additional pick later. Instead he was very clear that the Eagles picked Jurgens by choice, even though they'd considered Dean. If Jurgens turns out to be as Kelce, then hindsight will justify the decision and I'll even refund what you pay me for my GM skills

Jurgens is grade D because we didn't need a C with Dickerson already here, it was at least a round early to take him and we had other needs. We did have other needs, but Dickerson is a beast at guard and next to Mailata gives them maybe the most intimidating, dynamic left side OL in the NFL. Why change that and move him to C where the team values the athleticism of Kelce, probably a future HOFer? If your argument had been to move Seumolo to C, then you're dealing with a good player with an injury history. The Eagles not only value the OL, they value C and want their man to be reliable, smart, fast and feisty - Kelce. Kelce wanted this guy and I'm guessing they consulted Stoutland too. Why would we contradict those people? Personally, I have no idea if he was taken too early and there's not a lot of reason to trust prognosticators any more than we trust weathermen. All that said, I'd rather have added to the DL or RB if the CBs and Safties were gone ... or traded back, I think they gave up too much to move up two picks even though I'm happy with the Davis pick.

Yeah Dickerson showed he is a very good guard last season so C actually became a position of need somewhat.
Most would have preferred a CB or Safety at that pick but given Kelces involvement with the player, I'm giving the pick a solid C.

This is from The Athletic's Dane Brugler's ranking of team's drafts.
