It was ugly but it was a win. I'm not worried yet. This is the first time the starters all played together in a game this season. It was pouring rain in the first half.
Everyone was rusty...even the coaches. Play calling was, well, odd at times. You could see the rust on the players.
They were also playing a team with a pretty good coach.
All things considered, I'll take the win.
If this continues, then I'll worry but I'm glad they have a quick turnaround. I think that will help them.

My biggest concern, not worry yet, is the play calling on offense. A high-powered offense looked completely uninspired and often overmatched. Pats D could have been part of the problem, rust, easy camp, etc. parts. We'll see Thursday. And it just seemed like the Pats were passing at will, especially to their TEs.
Not freaking out, just uncomfortable right now.

I'm not concerned about a poor performance in week one since we won, but that will change if we don't improve on both sides of the ball over the next 2-3 games.
Expectations are high with good cause.

I also believe this defense will get better but that linebacker situation is probably the biggest concern I have on defense. But I already believed that before the game and now it's worse.

Absolutely, if they continue this way over the next 2-3 games, then I'll start to worry. These games are basically our preseason for the starters and the coaches.

Good point about it being our pre-season. If we do play better over the next couple of games then that may convince Sirianni to give our starters a couple of series in two of the preseason games next year. That's two years running where we've got away with a poor opening performance only because our opponents weren't good enough to take advantage of us.

He mentioned that the other day in one of his pressers.
