Awesome, the opinion of Peter Zeidenberg, the guy who spent much of his career putting Bush Administration officials in jail. Sure, one of his targets had his conviction overturned because of his unethical courtroom tactics, though the guy still ended up in jail via a process "crime."
Neat, good stuff. Do you have anything from the NYT you'd like to throw in?

I have no idea who the author is. I don’t have the long history of his past as some others may.
I’d like you to Judge his statements on their validity, not the author’s past.
Are his points valid?
Could Trump not have believed he lost yet still be guilty of crimes?
Not too long ago, you had a post that was perhaps more critical of Trump than anything anyone posted except for maybe BW. With my disdain for him ,that’s saying a lot.
But your points aren’t discarded because of that one opinion.
The one article I Linked a week ago or so, you discounted the Federalist member lawyers.
Not too long ago I linked an article from Taibi (sp) that you discard3d because of his bleeding heart liberal past, yet this guy was instrumental in exposing Twittergate.
In your opinion, Is he right or wrong or to be determined?
One, MD, what say you?

Every week there's a new crisis for us to focus on and analyze, to distract us from the big picture, the real endgame. It's working. This trial is no more than an extension of the J6 inquisition. It's a kangaroo court designed to divide, weaken and conquer all those who believe in the Constitution, liberty and equal justice for all. It's a scam. The trial is in a location where it is virtually impossible for any non-progressive to get a fair trial and the judge is no different. She has essentially been a hanging judge for the defendants of the manufactured insurrection and has been openly critical of the events of J6. From the same source, "Judge" Chutkan sentenced Matthew Mazzocco to 45 days in jail for a misdemeanor despite the prosecutor's recommendation of home confinement. ( here). According the the "judge": The judge who denied a change of venue and that she recuse herself actually said that the riots in protest of the wrongful death of a career criminal - riots that resulted in $billions in property damage, death and injury - were "mostly peaceful"! The peaceful protesters killed other people and the violent mob killed no one. And this guy, Zeidenberg, is the deliverer of propaganda to suggest there is some validity to the allegations. This trial is like having a play reviewed by fans of the home team. The entire process of Trump destruction is that. Everything they're prosecuting him for, criminalizing him for, has been done in recent history by THEM! The legality or illegality is irrelevant. And, no, I don't like him or want him elected again - unless the choice is him or Biden, or Newsome, or Clinton or Michelle Obama or any other America-hating communist intent on enslaving us all for their benefit. The only thing that confuses me is why. Their actions are strengthening his support and increasing his war chest. They're making him stronger, more relevant.

Having a trial take place in the municipality the alleged crime was committed is a backbone of law enforcement is it not?
What about the two charges the author says he is guilty of regardless of his “knowledge of his loss”.
Are they legit?
The more I read, the more I’m convinced that a calm, well spoken for once Trump, could list all that has happened, endorse another candidate and have that person win in a landslide.
Sad thing is, he’ll never do it, and that would be the most influential thing he could ever do at this point.
The people in the middle are tired enough. They smell a rat, and they would support the Trumpless cause.
There nothing in it for him, so he won’t do it.
It’s not time to do that yet, anyway, but the time is growing hear.

Maybe you should start using Google, instead of citing communist hacks. Yes, absolutely your past can make your statements invalid. I don't need to read his "opinions." I know who he is, and that's enough. I made it far enough to where he compared criminals using that as their defense in any crime, "I honestly thought it wasn't a crime." That plus his past invalidates everything he says. I criticized Trump because he was the actual president, and didn't do anything he promised. Now he's paying for it. I discounted one Federalist member lawyer, a card carrying Never Trumper. I discounted another communist hack, who isn't a Federalist member. Long ago I said The System won't allow him to be president ever again, and he won't even be on the ballot in many states. He'll be declared ineligible, using a clause in the 14th Amendment that can be applied to any politician or citizen in the country, depending on who's in charge. And look at what's starting to happen..... I forget exactly what I wrote about Taibbi, but he's a career leftist hack who seemed shocked that The System treated him like a runaway slave for daring to expose that the Feds worked directly with Twitter to censor conservatives. He gets no sympathy from me. Enjoy it Matt.

The only thing that confuses me is why. Their actions are strengthening his support and increasing his war chest. They're making him stronger, more relevant. The only thing resembling a strategy here is that DeSantis would likely gain broader support, and could actually win - or at least, make them have to cheat so blatantly over the top and obvious that it would cause major civil unrest. I think Trump's support would actually be a little bit less than 2020. Past that, you're just watching committed communists do what they do. Destroy, rinse, and repeat.

That 14th amendment clause is a potential issue.
I see the point about state by state basis. However, in a Federal election, wouldn’t it make more sense if it was ruled on a national basis?
On a state by state basis, it basically invalidates an entire election if the ballot choices are different.
Has their been a presidential election before wher not all candidates were permitted on the ballots of all states?

I'm not a jurist so I'm not sure how often the venue is changed as a means to have a fair trial. LinkThat sounds like the sixth amendment guarantees a change of venue if the jury is prejudiced. Did you just ignore that the judge is prejudiced? Have you followed the timing of the trial? I'm in favor of getting to the bottom of what he did and why he did it, but do that in a way that isn't so transparently prejudiced - like the J6 fiasco. This is a set-up, Mike.

Assuming that the trial is in Fulton County, GA, that county voted 26% Trump, 74% for Biden. (BTW, he won only 44% of Palm county, FLA, which I believe is his records trial locale)
Both the defense attorney and the prosecutor get to strike 9 prospective jurors each.
From the twelve that make the cut, he would need all 12 to decide that he was guilty "beyond a reasonable doubt"
The entire process would seem to be sufficient to get a not guilty verdict.
The judge could muck things up sure, but she runs the risk of getting into mistrial territory.
After all of this, if he is found guilty by the 12, he probably is.
All they need is one "Trump can do no wrong" to be in the jury pool. There's plenty around.
Grab a seat, put your hand on the Bible and lets see what you have to say. If the case is as flimsy as is thought, he'll have no problem getting off.

You're still skipping over the judge. You don't think that's important?

Not nearly as much as the jury.
She'll be watched very closely. If she over steps the appeals will be out, but only if he loses.
He needs to go 1 for 12, with nine jury strikes in what many are saying is a flimsy case.
For that to happen, they will have to convince a few Trump backers.
I don't see it.
If he loses, it's on him. But he won't.

I'd love to have a valid, honest way to keep him out of the election. For all I know, that's his endgame, not ego. A self-sacrifice to further expose the grip corruption and communism are exerting on us. I doubt it, but that would be genius.
It's unthinkable that a biased judge would be permitted to oversee a case. A judge has a lot of influence/power in the courtroom, but winning isn't the goal here. The election is the point, and influencing the voters is the intent.

But he won't. The ex-leader of the Proud Boys was just sentenced to 22 years in prison, for being in Miami on January 6th, 2021 - by a Trump appointed judge. What the hell planet do you live on? He's going to jail. It's just a race of which communist DA gets it done first. And remember, they're COMPETING with each other, not coordinating.

It would be Justice if he did as we hope and shove it up their ass. He would need to recruit a sale-able successor to “stick it to the man”. It would be genius.

But understandable at this point that he wouldn’t want to do that yet even if it was a possibility down the road.
