I have nothing against Rob Thompson. Nor do I think he's any different than Gabe Girardi. The players love him, and that counts. But I always said he did little more than provide a fresh breath of air in the clubhouse - we barely squeaked into the 6th spot, and just got hot enough to make it to the WS, where we ran into a brick wall against a far superior team. Still, he became "Philly Rob," and was proclaimed as our next savior. He was even given a contract extension.
I figured our dumbass fan base would be calling for Thompson's head by May, after we quickly returned to reality this year. Silly me. We start out 0-3, and yes, fans are already calling for him to be fired. Lolz.
It's fun being a Philly sports fan, but it ain't easy.

There are always fans that overreact. Getting swept to open the season sucks but truth be told, most teams get swept during some part of the season. Getting swept now is no different than getting swept in June other than the dashing of hopes that comes from a new season.
With that said, I would be shocked if the Phillies are able to repeat what they did last year. I just don't think the bats are there and the pitching is suspect as well.

I think we have a roster capable of winning it all, but not the way our lineup is constructed, and not the way Thompson handles pitching changes. He really is no different than Kapler or Girardi. I think Schwarber batting 2nd is even worse than him batting leadoff. Whatever, I got to see my WS win in '08. With low expectations comes low disappointment.
