Failing grade. Only one oof the big three.
No excuses.
Make up exam is at draft trade time. Maybe trade for Byard?

I was half expecting him to leave but suspect that they key point was when the opportunity arose to keep Bradberry. That needed a quick decision and meant using some of the cap room that we had reserved for Gardner-Johnson.
Is there a S worth #10, or do we look to drop back 5-10 picks to draft one and add a mid rounder?

CJGJs agent claims that the deal we offered was 3 yrs, 24M max, with only 3.5M paid in each of years 1 and 2, with the bulk $17m paid in year 3.
If true, that’s a real bad offer, and I don’t blame him for leaving.
However, I call bullshit.
Could the salaries be cheaper in first two years? Absolutely.
IMO, any deal would have contained a decent SB, all payable in year 1, so that he would have gotten much more that the agent claims.
It will be interesting to see what the real story is.
Both sides always try to save their ass. The Eagles do it publicly some times but rarely does the agent.
Hugh said how the Eagles emphatically stated to the media that they offered him a contract when he left for Jax. He said it was complete bs. They didn’t offer him a contract until AFTER he signed with JAX, only to try to save face.
The agent is spouting bs. Don’t be surprised if the Eagles don’t join him.

So I have heard a lot of things about this guy over the last week and from what I can discern through all the smoke is that he is a bit of a problem child. It is the reason that the Saints would not commit to him long term and the Eagles had reservations as well. Regardless of all of that, the real barometer is the fact that he did not get big contract from anyone. That speaks volumes.

If True RF, and they had reasons to doubt him and weren’t crazy about committing big time money, then they needed to turn their attention to others early and sign Edwards and/ or Epps. Or better yet, take him off your radar and keep Hargrave.
In that they failed.

I will shock you and counter your ideas....lol
First, the obvious one, Hargrave. He got over 20 million. Cox got 10 and Davis has to get more reps, I don't think they ever wanted to keep Hargrave for that fact. Add in that they saw Wilson improve dramatically and spending the 20+ on Hargrave would seem dumb. (No offense..lol)
Matching the deal that Edwards got would also seem imprudent, especially after his SB performance. He is ok but not that great. Epps is just a guy as well. Between the 2 I would have kept him with what they have in the cupboard but I am starting to think they are targeting a safety in the draft, likely Branch.
By the way I am going to be in Philly in a few weekends if you are around.

You counter? Never.
Well, I guess it comes down to this. All in all, I would give them a D so far is free agency, with the caveat that it's old fashioned scoring where C is average. That is disappointing to me. Given the poor cap shape we were in, I wasn't expecting above average, but I thought it was reasonable to expect an average grade for this franchise.
I realize it's not over yet and Howie has hit late FA gold before, but the first term grading period is over and it's a D.
When you coming in and where? What's the occasion? This time of the year, I do taxes on the side so it's a little hectic but let me know what's going on maybe we can meet up.

Coming into town on the first Friday of April and hanging out Saturday, likely do lunch and dinner somewhere...the GF loves Philly. When I nail down specifics I will reach out and see what your schedule is like.
By the way I can always rely on your for numbers and scholastic grading....lolol

I'm sure that has something to do with the lack of activity from the Eagles right now.

Johnson has signed an extension which frees up $10m in cap space.
That gives Roseman plenty to work with because Hurts won't be cheap, and deserves to be expensive.
