Which is the better movie?
Is Jennifer Garner pretty? I can't decide - sometimes she works for me, other times I'd be telling her to take her crackers and get out of my bed. (That one time she seemed to take it really personally and I felt bad. I made it up to her later.)
On the other hand, I have a perma crush on Kevin Costner . . . much as other unnamed board members might have a perma crush on Colin Farrell or Keifer Sutherland. But you can't can't get better than Field of Dreams, right? And now he's outdoing himself on Yellowstone.
Or maybe the best movie is "The Blind Side." I have the same conflict with Sandra Bullock. Is she pretty? Would I kick her out of bed? (The answer on the latter is almost always "no," without regard to the answer to the former.)
The board member at which this ridiculousness is directed knows who he is. We're all waiting for the rarest of events - an opportunity for the Eagles to win it all. Can't get here quickly enough!

I'd rate your post at 3 Phonebooths.
But it'll be interesting to see what our expert makes of it.

LOL.
The timing of this post is curious, but still funny.
No idea how Kevin Costner fits in to this.
I think both Garner and Bullock are pretty. But they do look better some times than others. I’d say the legs are the best attribute of both.
Blind Side over Draft Day. Phone Booth over draft day.
So maybe, just maybe, Phone Booth isn’t the perennial classic I thought it would be. I would challenge anyone to watch it and say it isn’t good.

This is what happens when you have more work to do than there is time to do it in, so you say "Fuck it" and decide to drink rum and watch Draft Day instead. And yes, "Phone Booth" was a pretty good movie . . . haven't seen it in a long time. The portion of my career where high-stakes negotiations were an important part of my job is probably what makes Draft Day more appealing to me than most. (Negotiating is still a pretty big part of my professional life, but those sitting across the table from me these days aren't nearly as sophisticated or challenging as they were once-upon-a-time.) The crescendo scene where Costner gets to own the numerous people who had taken advantage of him throughout the early parts of the movie seriously pumps me up every time. And it appeals to the other part of me that just generally likes to see bullies get their comeupance. So anyway - thanks to my old friends for not beating me up too badly for a ridiculous post, and I'll try to keep the drunk posting to a minimum going forward.

Ha!
I was hoping there was alcohol behind this post, otherwise I’d be concerned.
A little surprised that rum is your choice though.
I would have expected a bourbon tie on.
My old friend had a saying
Slot Slinging Drunk.
You might not have reached that point but thanks for sharing.
Glad you had a fun “fuck it” day.

My old friend had a saying Slot Slinging Drunk. You might not have reached that point but thanks for sharing. Glad you had a fun “fuck it” day. Never been much of a bourbon guy, but I can appreciate the occasional Ol' Grandad or Jim Beam . . . particularly around Kentucky Derby time. I mostly gave up Guinness because it's too inefficient and generally unfair to my bladder. So rum has been my choice for quite a few years. It may seem a bit homerish given the forum, but it's true - my rum of choice is Jacquin's. I realize that means my palate is not particularly refined in that regard, but . . . there it is. Alas, I didn't have a "fuck it" day - it was more like a "fuck it" couple of hours - the approximate run time of "Draft Day". (Although I don't think I made it through the final scene where Costner's mother finally softens to his relationship with Garner and their prenatal child.) Is it time for kickoff yet?!

I remember you downing quite a few Guinness back in the day. Was it Chickies & Pete’s where we met up the night before the tail gate?
It was you, me, Jax, Jax Dad, Who was the guy you knew, Dennis? Was Ward with us that night? Did Eyrie come then or was that another year?
Back then Guinness was thought as being a heavy beer. Now with all of the craft beer and high alcohol content, Guinness is way below the average ABV of craft beer.

Had the privilege of meeting Mikey and Ward back in 2004, but not Mike And to stay on topic I'll shortly* be opening a bottle of Talisker. *It's 7:37pm in civilised lands.

That was the night Birdbrain (?) brought his father along . . . Woody? And it turned out he was this famous producer who essentially invented Nightline and Good Morning America. He had a rather titilating (so to speak) claim about Joan Lunden, as I recall. Alas Eyrie was not there - I believe I missed his visit and the famous tent stake/pole incident by a year.

"Civilised" lands have made an effort to improve the language from the eastern originators. Clearly there is a place for the "zed" - it's "civilized" not "civil-iced". Two countries separated by a common language, as the say. Eddie Izzard has a very funny bit on this: amara.org/videos/jgP5JpzNRQYB/en/1483065/ (That whole show "Dressed to Kill" is hysterical, although it's becoming a bit dated.) There's a chance I'm going to Scotland in the fall . . . if so, we'll see if we can find a way for our paths to cross! Meanwhile, if you venture to the states again, I'll not miss the opportuntiy again.

The only time it's spelt with a "z" is the computer game, and even then that's because Sid Meier is from the wrong side of the Atlantic.
As regards meeting you, I've been able to form a clear impression of your character over the years and so that will only happen if you accept defeat in advance for the inevitable argument about who buys the first round. It's on me.

For a second, I thought the inevitable argument was the old MD-Eyrie climate change donneybrook.
Maybe we need to rekindle that one post SB?
Get some old Gods and General action going.
I mean you have dipped into the past with the Phone Booth reference.

It's gotten quite expensive over the years!
