... then the Eagles and Cowboys will meet in the NFC Championship game with a healthy Prescott and Hurts.

The viewing figures for that would be off the scale.

As it stands now, the Redskins would have to beat the Vikings in the 1st round, and the Cowboys would have to beat the Bucs in the 1st round, and the 49ers in the 2nd round. We'd have to win in the 2nd round obviously too. A stretch, but not impossible. Frankly, I'd rather see the Cowboys get demolished in the 1st round.

The Cowboys deserve credit for playing a good game Saturday.
The other side of that coin is that two second-team Eagles can reasonably held responsible for the Eagles' loss: Watkins and Scott. Watkins is the primary culprit for not fighting for the ball twice - that doesn't mean he has to catch the ball, but at least make sure the DB doesn't! Watkins with some balls, Maddox in the game and the Eagles win decisively even with two fumbles and no Hurts.
If both teams are at full strength I can't envision a scenario where the Eagles would not have the number 1 seed at this point and don't win the NFC Championship. Of course if the defense wouldn't stick with zone coverage despite Prescott having 100% success throwing into it maybe there'd be a different outcome too.

In fact, he's been a bit off lately. Minshew shouldn't have thrown those two balls but yes, Watkins needs to make a play on the ball. 3rd and friggin' 30... The fumble Sanders had last week, I don't blame him. Crazy play. This week though? Put two hands on the damn ball in traffic!!!! But, 3rd and friggin' 30!!! Slay blew it and the safety just plain whiffed on the ball. Inexcusable. They make that stop and the game is basically over. I really have little problem with how Minshew played knowing he hasn't been playing. However, every time I watch him, I see him constantly falling back throwing the ball off the back foot. He threw a ton of floaters. Honestly, I thought he should have been picked off 3 or 4 more times. Can't fall away and throw the ball all of the time. 3rd and friggn' 30... The defense pissed me off. Offense played well enough to win. Yes, 4 turnovers basically gave the game away but, even with that, they SHOULD have won. Reminds me of past seasons of the Eagles losing games they should have won. I hope all of those people who were saying Hurts shouldn't play even if healthy are happy. They need to win one more game. Stop with this notion that they can sit back and beat people without your best players on the field. NO is playing for something. And they'd love nothing more than to knock off the top team. And you don't think the vaGiants don't want some revenge? They are at a crossroads right now. They need to step up, take care of business this week and then start to get healthy/prepare for the playoffs. 3rd and friggn' 30...

It sounded like Slay was where he was supposed to be on the 3/30 but Scott wasn't. Doesn't matter now, but Watkins just let the defense take the damn ball ... twice.

If Hurts is healthy, he should play against the Saints. Regardless, if we win and clinch the #1 seed, he should be done until the playoffs.
Hopefully Lane Johnson will be back for the playoffs. That's a huge loss. Pretty much the definition of an anchor for the last decade.

I won't pretend to know enough to argue, but McLane makes the case here: I get it, however, it's 3rd and 30, none of the underneath stuff is going to hurt you, the stuff over the top will. Regardless, Slay needs to get back and Scott FOR SURE needs to intercept that ball (or at least knock it down). I blame both. And, the past few weeks, Slay has not been playing well at all. The defense was trash. Much of that was friggin' Gannon with his soft-ass crap again. Letting guys catch slant over the middle after slant. I just can't fathom how they can look at the video and think that's the way defense should be played.

Maybe they know more than your average fan sitting on the couch, drinking Pabst while yelling at the tv. Just sayin'

It's not that I don't believe they have a good defense, I'm still no fan of Gannon who never seems to adjust. Why in the world did we constantly have our WORST back on Lamb? I mean, the guy is burning you, how about something to stop that guy?
