Did I read it correctly in that so far the FBI or DOJ are not implicated in Twittergate? The FBI was deeply involved. The top of the FBI has been deeply corrupted. Russiagate, Mar A Lago, concerned parents voicing opinions at school board meetings, big tech, SWAT reaction to conservatives, etc.

Rank-and-file agents have every chance and opportunity to disobey orders, come forward, or quit. Nobody gets a pass.

I see.
I was going with the phrase quoted in Talabbis piece that there was no government connection.
The Post has a lot more than that.
I wonder why he would say that given what the Post says?

And now that Warnock apparently will retain his seat in the Senate and more judges in the country will be progressive advocates we're all faced with the significant problem of what to do about corrupted elections. I'm deeply interested to see what happens in Arizona because that will give some indication of how the country will deal with corruption. Even if one believes that Lake was legitimately defeated, the fact that a sitting secretary of state in charge of elections is a candidate and refuses to recuse herself is problem enough. But watching as the most populous county by far has unexplainable problems with voting machines that likely not only diminish in-person voting numbers but the "drawer 3" fiasco raises even more questions of honest tabulation. This election needs to be overturned.
Just prior to the 2020 election something like 59% of Americans believed our elections were not trustworthy. I haven't seen any polls since then, but after that election and these midterms I have to think that number would have increased appreciably. I seem to remember reading a while ago that many believe this is part of the Democrat/Communist plan: social/racial division and distrust in our elections and our courts. The country becomes irreparably divided, sinks into armed civil conflict that results in martial law and authoritarian rule.
Game over ... presumably.
Now, back to the original premise of the thread, let's throw in the Trump business conviction in NY. I really don't have any idea, but I'd bet that there's no limit to companies that would be found guilty of those things if they were ever to be investigated. So even though it may be a justifiable verdict (again, I don't know), it's still a scam intended to bring down the outsider and prevent any chances of him seeing the inside of the White House ever again. I think it will work, and I hope he drops out of contention to make way for someone who will unite not only the Republican party, but the country, and destroy the globalist/socialist/communist attempt to takeover America. Of course that person would need enough overwhelming popular support to prevent election manipulation. If Trump is stubborn, stays in the race, and pulls votes away from a viable alternative, he'll be as bad or worse than those who have been committed to destroying him.
Watching this tragic movie makes me glad to be old. It also makes me yearn for my ignorant, apolitical days.

Who says your ignorant days are aver??
Just kidding as you know. You are one knowledgeable SOB.
FWIW, I read somewhere recently that 72% of Democrats don’t believe that Trump won in 2016 and 61% of Republicans don’t believe Biden won in 2020. So nobody trust this stuff for the last six years.
I think you overestimate the number of companies Trump co’s size that would do that. Maybe I just had a good mix of audit clients back in the day, but DT has that above the law air about him. But it could be just my blind hatred getting in the way but my eye sight seems to be improving as of late.
I heard RD is significantly ahead of him in recent polls That’s good. Once it’s clear that he’s a significantly diminished factor, they’ll turn on him in a NY minute. I believe we’re in chapter two of the DT story. There’s a bunch more to read, and I don’t think it has a happy ending.

But it could be just my blind hatred getting in the way but my eye sight seems to be improving as of late. It really started back in 2000, though that was clearly more of a tantrum than a legitimate case of a stolen election. Bush won Florida by a little over 500 votes that year, out of 6 million who voted in the state. Unreal. He also lost New Mexico by a little over 300 votes. 22 years and 22 million illegals later..... '04, '08, and '12 were pretty clear wins for the victor, and of course that bring us to the last 2. Except now we have early voting, mail-in ballots, and it takes an entire month for some states to count votes. I doubt that's going to improve in 2 years. And yes, that's some great self-reflection there, it's your blind hate talking. They can't and won't stop going after him, they've simply gone too far at this point and have nothing else to run on, so they're running out the clock while holding up Trump as their target.

Dominion has ties to the Clinton Foundation and the Pelosis. Russia hacked the election in 2016. Then in 2020 it was all squeaky clean. Anyone who denies this is a conspiracy theorist. Matt Taibbi just got a crash course in what happens when you fall out of line. The guy is a flaming liberal, who just got his entire social life crashed.

Dominion v. Fox is being heard in Delaware. Biden not only has a lot of pull in his "home" state, but has a lot to gain if this goes in his favor. He may be suffering from dementia, but he's always been very talented in the world of corruption.
Most of the MSM is predictably chirping that Dominion is victim to more of the "no evidence conspiracy theories." That people continue to believe that line is depressing because from Michigan to Georgia and Colorado, etc. there's abundant evidence that Dominion machines were rigged, connected to the internet and that evidence of manipulation was dumped immediately after the election. The MSM and the left's Corleone style "encouragement" of witnesses and judges are key to the success they've experienced so far. It may be that they overplayed their hand in AZ which could wake up enough people to force serious, impartial investigations that will have the potential to turn things around.
Pray for it but prepare for the alternative.

We need more on both sides to step up and out the lies.

I hope all is ok with Pila. He hasn’t been around since early in the COVID period.
Maybe if he’s lurking he can chime in to let us know he’s ok.

One, are you saying that the Dominion trial is rigged? If you have a conversation about 2020 election fraud with a Democrat, you will undoubtedly hear them tell you that most all of Trump's lawsuits failed in the courts. There were a couple that were unsuccessful, but the majority of them were rejected by judges without ever reviewing the reams of evidence submitted by the plaintiffs. SCOTUS refused to hear Trump's case due to lack of standing (if I remember right) and refused to hear the PA case that our state Supreme Court allowed essentially unlimited mail-in voting because it was too late. So the point isn't that the trial is rigged. The point, as with most all of the news we get, is that we don't know. People who have had dirt on the Clintons end up dead routinely. Seth Rich supposedly leaks DNC information to Wikileaks and ends up dead. It's becoming standard to see Republicans voting for leftist legislation. There are affidavits from people who claim that they witnessed Dominion machines hooked to the internet. In Grand Junction, CO County Clerk Tina Peters and people close to her are threatened and imprisoned because they made a copy of a Dominion hard drive after the 2020 election (as required by law) but before Dominion's "update" of the machine - the two copies were different. Results in a Dominion machine in Antrim County, Michigan were mysteriously changed from Trump to Biden - evidence showed it was "an anomaly" and the court ordered it corrected. It's popular to believe the 2020 election was fair and secure. The results of the Dominion suit and the Lake suit in AZ should give us an idea if the elections and the courts are fixed.

by Tim Canova While there has been much public attention on the U.S. Supreme Court’s present consideration of the “independent state legislature” theory in Moore v. Harper involving North Carolina’s redistricting, that case would not immediately upend the 2020 Presidential Election. In contrast, a little-known case that appeared recently on the Court docket could do just that. The case of Brunson v. Adams, not even reported in the mainstream media, was filed pro se by ordinary American citizens – four brothers from Utah — seeking the removal of President Biden and Vice President Harris, along with 291 U.S. Representatives and 94 U.S. Senators who voted to certify the Electors to the Electoral College on January 6, 2021 without first investigating serious allegations of election fraud in half a dozen states and foreign election interference and breach of national security in the 2020 Presidential Election. The outcome of such relief would presumably be to restore Donald Trump to the presidency. The important national security interests implicated in this case allowed the Brunsons to bypass an appeal that was frozen at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit and get the case to the Supreme Court which has now scheduled a hearing for January 6, 2023. The Brunson Petition for a Writ of Certiorari would require the votes of only four Justices to move the case forward. It seems astounding that the Court would wade into such waters two years to the day after the Congressional vote to install Joe Biden as President. But these are not normal times. Democrats may well push legislation in this month’s lame duck session of Congress to impose term limits and a mandatory retirement age for Justices, and thereby open the door to packing the Court. Such a course would seem to be clear violations of Article III, Section 1 of the Constitution which provides that Justices “shall hold their Offices during good Behavior.” In addition to such institutional threats to the Supreme Court, several Justices and their families have been living under constant threats to their personal security since the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Perhaps these institutional and security threats have provided powerful incentives for the Court to put Brunson v. Adams on its dockets as a shield to deter any efforts by the lame duck Congress to infringe on the Court’s independence. Or perhaps conservatives on the Court are serious about using the Brunson case as a sword to remove public officials who they believe have violated their constitutional Oaths of office by rubber-stamping Electors on Jan. 6th without first conducting any investigation of serious allegations of election fraud and foreign election interference. Moreover, recent weeks have brought a cascade of news suggesting the likelihood of an impending constitutional crisis that could be difficult to resolve without the Court’s intervention. It is now clear that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was colluding with social media giants Twitter and Facebook to censor news of Hunter Biden’s laptop in the weeks leading up to the 2020 election – a most egregious First Amendment violation intended to rig the election outcome and perhaps to install an unaccountable and criminal puppet government. Meanwhile, the January 6th committee may soon send a criminal referral to the Justice Department to arrest President Trump even though his reinstated tweets are a reminder that he was not calling for insurrection but for peaceful protest on January 6th. More recently, the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) was reportedly working with Big Tech to censor election critics. Supreme Court Justices may well see these approaching storm clouds and conclude that the Court’s intervention is necessary to prevent larger civil unrest resulting from constitutional violations that are undermining public trust and confidence in the outcomes of both the 2020 and 2022 elections. When criminals break the law — state and federal statutes — to rig an election, we are dependent on prosecutions by law enforcement agencies that have sadly become politicized and complicit. When they break the Constitution — the supreme law of the land — to rig an election, the only recourse may be the Supreme Court or military tribunals. As the Brunson lawsuit argues, all of Congress was put on notice prior to its January 6th vote by more than a hundred of its own members detailing serious allegations of election frauds and calling for creation of an electoral commission to investigate the allegations. Moreover, the Office of Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) was required to submit a report on foreign threats to the 2020 Presidential election by December 18, 2020. That deadline was set by executive order and by Congress itself. When December 18th came and went without ODNI submitting its report, Congress should have started asking questions and investigating. In fact, DNI John Ratcliffe announced on that day that the 17 U.S. intelligence agencies he was overseeing had found evidence of foreign election interference but were split as to its significance and whether such breach of national security was sufficient to overturn the outcome of the election. And yet there was no action whatsoever by Congress, no inquiry and no investigation. Instead, Congress approved the possibly fraudulent election results on January 6th without asking any questions of the DNI and the Intelligence Community. When the results of the 1876 presidential election were in doubt, Congress created a special Electoral Commission made up of five House members, five Senators, and five Supreme Court Justices to investigate. In contrast, in early 2021 Congress had nearly two weeks to investigate before the January 20th date of the Presidential Inauguration. Had Congress waited even just one more day to January 7th, they would have received the long-awaited ODNI report reflecting a split in the Intelligence Community and the DNI’s own conclusion that the People’s Republic of China had interfered to influence the outcome of the presidential election. As Dr. Barry A. Zulauf, the Analytic Ombudsman for the Intelligence Community, concluded at the time, the Intelligence Community shamefully delayed their findings until after the January 6th Electoral College certification by Congress because of their political disagreements with the Trump administration. This paints a picture of collusion and conspiracy involving members of Congress and U.S. intelligence agencies to coverup evidence of foreign election interference and constituting the crime of High Treason. The Brunson lawsuit does not claim the election was stolen, merely that a large majority of Congress, by failing to investigate such serious allegations of election rigging and breaches of national security, violated their Oaths to protect and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic – an Oath also taken by Supreme Court Justices and members of the U.S. military. The fact that the Brunson case has made it to the Court’s docket suggests profound concerns about a lawless January 6th Congressional committee, politicized federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies, and major constitutional violations intended to overthrow an elected government by manipulating the outcome of the presidential election. * The writer is a Professor of Law at the Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law in Fort Lauderdale where he teaches Constitutional Law. What do I think about the January 6 Committee’s recommendation to the DOJ to prosecute Trump for sparking an insurrection?
First off, I think Trump deserves criticism for January 6.
Trump did nothing wrong in his speech. Telling supporters to peacefully protest while questioning the integrity of the vote – that was perfectly justified.
Telling Mike Pence not to certify the result was not justified. Congress can refuse to certify the result, but Mike Pence had no authority to do so.
Trump could also have told protestors to go home sooner than he did, after they began to enter the Capitol.
But what did Trump do that was criminal on, or in relation to, January 6?
Is questioning the integrity of an election illegal? No, and in fact, the last Presidential Election Democrats lost and did not widely question the integrity of was in 1988 when George H W Bush (the father of George W Bush) defeated Michael Dukakis. I am 51, and I was not old enough to vote in that election, so unless you are older than me, you have never voted in a Presidential Election Democrats lost and then accepted the results of.
If attacking the integrity of elections is illegal, throw Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Al Gore, and hundreds of other Democrats in prison with Trump, because they did it too. Repeatedly.
But Democrats do not consider it illegal when they do it – and that one fact tells you everything you need to know.
As for the insurrection on January 6, according to the FBI, there was none. It was a spontaneous uprising, and all but 12 people were charged with nothing more than trespassing, after being held without charges for entirely too long.
Twelve members of the Proud Boys apparently did plan something along the lines of an insurrection, and they are being tried accordingly, but Trump had no involvement with that.
As for incitement, is Maxine Waters going to be Trump’s bunkmate? How about Kamala Harris, or any of the hundreds of other prominent Democrats who incited violence during the Trump Administration? According to the January 6 Committee, trespassing in the Capitol is a major offense. Do you know what the same people do not consider an offense? Trying to burn the Capitol down.
Those who called rampant arson in the Capitol and around the country ‘mostly peaceful’ for four years should sit this one out.
I am in the awkward position where Trump supporters sometimes criticize me for not supporting Trump, and where those who do not like Trump criticize me for defending Trump against meritless attacks, such as that from the January 6 Committee.
What I would like to see is Trump suing the government for allowing the January 6 Committee. On what grounds, you ask?
How about because Nancy Pelosi did not allow the Republicans in Congress to choose their members?
How about because only two of the members were Republicans – and both were hand-picked by Nancy Pelosi specifically because they were fervently anti-Trump?
How about because the Republicans were not allowed to call witnesses?
How about because the Republicans were not allowed to cross-examine witnesses?
Never before in the history of our country has a Congressional Committee been set up as such an obvious sham as to deny due process and create a predetermined result. The January 6 Committee was a true fascist first for our nation.
And I mean REAL fascism – I’m not just throwing words out like those on that committee do.
In short, Trump should not be charged with a crime in relation to January 6 because, although his performance related to that day was less than satisfactory, he did nothing illegal, and this is supposed to be a nation where such things matter.
Trying to throw someone in jail because you dislike their politics – is that really the nation you want to live in? That is what the January 6 Committee is trying to do, and if you support them, you are an idiot and an un-American fascist, just as the members of that committee are and just as Nancy Pelosi is.
What is the more significant threat to our Republic:
1) Trump on January 6, or
2) The FBI paying Twitter $2 million to suppress the Hunter Biden laptop story, influencing the last Presidential Election?
What was on that laptop?
Evidence of Joe Biden and his family doing everything Democrats spent four years accusing Trump and his family of doing.
The FBI does not give a rat’s ass about any of the supposed crimes Trump has been accused of, as if they did care about actual crimes, they might take note of some of the evidence against Joe Biden and his family.
The FBI no longer investigates crimes to prosecute those who commit them. Now it investigates people to see if the FBI can find any grounds to prosecute them on. And not all people – just the ones the Democrats do not like, such as the parents of school-age children.
It was never about justice. It was always about control. For all his faults, Trump wanted to give you more control over your own life, as does DeSantis, and the majority of Republicans (the exceptions are the Republicans who are getting rich fleecing the system).
The Democrats want to control your life.
And the corrupt Republicans? They just want money and are happy to sell you out to get it.
When one party shows as conclusively as the DNC has that they do not give a rat’s ass about justice – and they show that they have the backing of corporate America, the media, big tech, and the administrative state in controlling narratives to keep control over you – why on EARTH would you ever trust them to run an honest election?
Do Democrats cheat? Based on how little faith they show in the American people, of course, they do. Does anyone here honestly believe that Democrats trust the American people with choosing our leaders?!?
Democrats seek to control us, and doing so, of course, involves controlling the outcomes of elections.
It is easier to control the outcomes of statewide elections than it is to control the outcomes of more local elections, which is why in 2022, Democrats kept the Senate but lost the House.
This is also how Joe Biden won the most votes in American history while losing the most counties anyone has lost since Michael Dukakis (who was blown out).
If we have learned anything from the Twitter Files, it is that the system is far more rigged than any of us thought.
And now the powers that be want to suppress the Twitter Files.
If you are a conservative, of course, you are upset at the revelations coming from the Twitter Files, but if you are an independent or a Democrat, ask yourself if the nation, the powers that be, are forcing down our collective throats against our collective will, is really the nation you want to live in.
Maybe – just maybe – enough patriotic Americans will be shaken awake by these revelations to demand that our government starts to follow the Constitution again.
We have now tried tyranny, and it is not working.

One,
You’ve had the time to read and research this more than most. Although it seems that the majority of your sources are pro Trump in nature, you are most times a see both sides type of person.
I’d ask you from what you’ve read, put forth your best case as the prosecution against Donald Trump.
Whether the case is strong enough for disallowance of public office, criminal, or something less is for you to decide.
Of course you won’t know for sure, but give it your best shot.

Whether the case is strong enough for disallowance of public office, criminal, or something less is for you to decide. Of course you won’t know for sure, but give it your best shot. In this case, "pro Trump in nature" translates to uncensored information. I haven't seen anything that would indicate guilt beyond poor speech and his willingness to reveal the truth as he sees it, which is all they've ever had against him. There is no case, only transparent propaganda. They keep giving us all the innuendo and accusations just as they did with both impeachments but the only evidence that was ever presented actually indicted the FBI, his accusers and the deep state. I'm continually amazed that people don't see that and understand that he represents significant danger to the endless corruption in our government and that his (our) enemies will spare no opportunity, real or manufactured, to destroy him and his credibility. I'm surprised you haven't gotten it yet. Trump may be distasteful, arrogant and unpolitic, but none of the charges brought against him have ever resulted in a prosecution. It's theater that the uninformed swallow whole. It works, so they'll keep doing it, and even though he hasn't been found guilty of any of it people will keep believing it because for some reason they're either unable or unwilling to recognize the truth, even now with all of the revelations provided by the Twitter releases. You're the classic example of why this continues. You're intelligent, you have a strong moral foundation, you're a good citizen, and you're a good family man. You represent the strength and the majority of America. But for some reason, despite all of your good qualities, you fail to connect all of lies that have condemned a man who has sacrificed a billionaires life style and enormous wealth in service of common people instead of the elite. You don't have to like him, I don't, but I don't understand how it's possible that you don't recognize the frame.

I am not sure if the full report of the J6 committee is available yet. I think it is.There is supposedly a good executive summary in there that sums up “all” they have against him.
As a retired person, you have time. When you get a chance, take a look at the report with open eyes. I heard that all of the info used were testimony of Republicans. Not positive of that but I did hear it. I know it is drama, and not real hearings in the Watergate sense. That’s a bad deal, but it doesn’t mean what people say isn’t true.
Remember when we spoke before many months ago and up to that time, you didn’t watch one ,minute of the hearings despite having very well written strong opinions in his support up to that point. You agreed but only watched a little bit. I will try to do the same. I should have some time off this weekend to read the report summary. Read the summary in detail. Don’t focus on what is said as much as WHO is saying it. These are former inner circle people who did his bidding. It is extremely highly unlikely that all those people are lying or would do any bidding for the Dems. As painful as it was for you to watch any of the hearings please put your effort and an open mind into reading it. Then let’s talk again.
It is interesting in that the more I read, the more I believe of the deep state, the concerted effort to undo him. Russia gate, FBI collusion with social media, Bidengate.
The funny thing is, as much of a fraud and deplorable person that I think Trump is (key word is “think”), I have recently pissed off six people close to me in the last six weeks defending this asshole. Not the behind the keyboard type, but the live “ on the barstool” type where any arguments are real and consequences greater. I’ve pissed off my wife, my daughter, a coworker, and three friends I’ve known since pre high school. All because I had the nerve to try to look at it objectively and had the gall to defend Trump and say challenging things like he, Clinton and Biden all need to be investigated and prosecuted. The constant thing I see is both sides don’t want to hear anything bad about “their person”. You know, option C, that all are crooks is a very viable option. That all three need to be prosecuted to the hilt to really clean up the swamp. There I am out in the real world defending this asshole and pissing people off.
Anyway, tomorrow I am having drinks with two of my oldest friends who I’ve pissed off before. I’m sure Twittergate will give me yet another opportunity to throw salt in the wounds. I’m trying to not go too far as I don’t want to be THAT guy.
No chance of getting into a fist fight over it as these are some of my closest friends. The coworker, not so much. I’m very adept at the “bar stool” approach.
BTW, taxes detail comes out Friday.
Happy holidays my friend.
Stay safe and warm in Bumfuck, Pa.

He's been out of office for almost exactly 2 years. The people still in office are parading around a grifting leech who showed up in Congress dressed like he's going for a jog, promising him our billions for his border security. Oh, and we're printing another $1.7 trillion that Republicans could've stopped before taking the House, but decided not to for whatever reason.
So yes, nobody normal gives a rat's ass about a mostly peaceful protest from 2 years ago.

Well, no arguments last night as other than a brief mention of Trumps taxes nothing was discussed in detail. Keep in mind that all three of us are CPAs and one is also a lawyer so probably more interest in this type of thing than most, but “ back in the day” topics like our bachelor parties and sports discussions ruled the night.
All the better. Didn’t cause holiday season friction.
We are supposed to meet again in a few weeks. I’ll go out of my way to bring it up then.

Mike, are you familiar with the term "uniparty?" Except for maybe a handful of Republican politicians the charlatans in Washington are all of for the same agenda: enriching themselves. Rarely do they represent their constituents or keep their campaign promises. We can't trust any of them to either be truthful or to do the best thing for the citizens of this country. So when you said in another post that mostly Republicans spilled the beans on Trump, I had to chuckle and wince at the same time. The only thing most of them care about is coming out on the profitable side of this mess, and that includes most of his close advisors.
That your family and friends don't see that is because they've been programmed not to and because their comfort prevents it. How many of them read alternate news sites just to see what is being said? How many of them continue to get COVID booster shots and would comply with more mandates? Have you read anything about the censoring of reputable DRs and researchers who spoke out against the vaccine? Have you read anything about the data that shows the very real threat of taking those shots? I'm not saying they're the truth, but why is data suppressed instead of being refuted with evidence? The same holds true about race relations, sexual identity, immigration, the climate, and on, and on, and on. It's as if you have those discussions with your family and friends and the rule is that you don't get to speak.
The USA of the 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's is gone. I doubt we'll ever see it again.

Yes , not familiar with the term, but I understand the concept.
I agree that politicians are out for themselves and don’t serve the masses. I think it permeates Washington, but I don’t think it pertains to the majority of former Trumpsters who have spoken out. In our world of politics, one never says that they were wrong. Many of these people staunchly defended Trump when they were getting attacked continuously. The last thing they want to do is admit wrong doing. At least up until a few weeks ago. Many now will just pile on. Both the lefties and righties live in a world where they never admit wrong doing. Die trying and lying. It’s what’s wrong with this country. That’s why the delivery of the news needs to be cleaned up. But sadly our society may never go for a real news station where opposing views are discussed and legitimized. People are pussies. They’d rather sit in their own circle jerk groups where being right is more important than the truth.
What this country needs is a President who marginalizes the Congress. We need a leader who has weekly conferences where he talks directly and speaks the truth to the people.. If given the forum, an honest President could turn the tide on the swamp. If he had that new news channel to air his conferences, I think people would appreciate the truth. But he’d have to be honest. He’d have to admit when he didn’t know everything and would have to criticize both parties when needed. Tell people the truth, and let them put pressure on their Congressmen. Of course he may get his ass assassinated, but that’s another story.
Here’s a line. Explain to the people directly that the tab for the 1.7T bill is $5,000 each citizen or $11,000 per taxpayer. Ask how they’d recommend to pay for it? Simple in theory but complicated in practice.
My ideas about demanding financial independence of our lawmakers would go a far way. Term limits could help too.
There’s someone I know who could do it. If he ever decides to run I’ll let you know.

Nice post, Mike. We'll leave that for the end of 2022. Have a safe and enjoyable 2023 and don't get too drunk or overindulge in any marital bliss tonight.
