I know people will complain about some of the things from yesterday but, overall, it's a good win. A division rival whom we normally wind up with 1-score games with a QB who had something to prove against us. The defense showed up from the start again. Hats off to Gannon again. I'll beat him up when he does stupid crap but will cheer for him when he does well. He's made the changes they've needed to allow the talent they have to actually show their talent.
Hurts continues to mature as a QB. Second week in a row they dared him to beat him with his arm...and he did...again. Makes it REALLY hard to cover all of this talent in the receiving group if they can't just sit back in coverage and wait for Hurts to make a mistake. If they rush, he runs by them. This team should continue getting better on offense as Hurts continues to improve.
I still feel like they have a lot of room left to improve as well.
I'm not calling SB or anything as we haven't played the really good teams yet but they're doing what they need to do and beating the teams put in front of them.

Playing at that level it's hard to see where the first loss comes from - Cards in a couple weeks but they aren't looking like much so far, then the Packers late November, all the rest up until then looking very winnable.

I'm still concerned about the concentration of the scoring. This week it was all in the second quarter. That's three quarters with no points on the board.
(Granted, this is a luxury nit-pick.)

I'm not really concerned. The games have played that way. With a big lead in the 2nd half, they aren't going to get as crazy with the play calls. What I'm more concerned about is the run blocking. It's been horrible. They need to get that sorted out right away.

The Cards? Seriously? They look weak. I am sure they will lose a few games but it hard to see where.

Does it matter? Is there a bonus for scoring 24 in 4 quarters vs. scoring 24 in one? Not in the two games in which it's happened so far - no, it didn't matter in those two games. And other than "strength of victory" tiebreakers which rarely come into play, it's not as if there are demerits for clustering scoring into a single quarter. But in a slugfest against a more worthy opponent, it could be a problem. Hey - I'm an Eagles fan and have been for nearly half a century, so . . . it's my duty to bring in a little "glass half empty" thinking, right? It's in my DNA for crying out loud. Remember Tommy Hutton's dropped snap in what would have been a game-winning field goal over Dallas early in the 1997 season? I do! And I'm with Eyrie - I saw the Eagles at #1 in the Power Rankings this morning and thought to myself, "Well if that isn't the Kiss of Death, I don't know what is!" So yeah . . . it's nice to be 3-0 and alone in possession of first place in the division. I'm liking it. Beats the snot out of being 0-3 and in last place. But c'mon. There's a charcoal lining to every Eagles' Cloud Nine. How 'bout if they score 24 points in BOTH halves next time out?! Then my pessimism will wane a bit, perhaps.

I don't worry much about it past the coaching aspect. Against Minny they left their foot off the gas by their own admission. Against the Skins(yeah, I said the skins, if that hurts you are in the wrong place) they were a little scatterbrained. Both the HC and OC are learning as they go. The important thing is the QB and the coaches recognize it.
These are the first 3 games after another weak preseason of little to no contact and short practices. These are really preseason games for the most part. It seems, shockingly, that the Eagles are still trying to figure out what works best on the ground and they are using the 2nd half of lopsided games to do so.

It'll be a good test to see if they can come out and keep up the intensity against the Jags. Pederson coming back should help. We better not take it as a gimme.

Yeah, RF - they'll always be the Redskins to me, more often referred to as the redskirts, with all of the off-color disrespect that implies. Unfortunately the game against the Jags won't be on TV in our local market. It's on CBS by virtue of the Jags being AFC, and CBS WHP 21 in Harrisburg is going to air either the Steelers or the Ravens. Grrr. So my choices are to somehow spoof my IP to fool YouTubeTV into thinking I'm on vacation in Philly so that I can get CBS KYW 3, or head out to a local sports bar. Or find it on the radio. OR . . . open to suggestions?!
