I will take it but I have serious concerns after game one.
The run defense was horrible and two delay of game penalties is inexcusable. Same with 12 men in the huddle. Hopefully these types of penalties were just due to rust.
I was not happy with the run\pass ratio, particularly in the 1st half. It is like they forget what worked for them last year.
I am still concerned with Hurts' completion percentage but I was happy to see an accurately placed deep ball to Brown. That was something that was not present last year at all.
He did make some good decisions with regards to getting rid of the ball.

In another thread I said 10-7 this year, maybe a playoff win. That's exactly what they showed me today. We'll put up points, but we won't consistently beat good teams, and the defense is average at best.
-I've never actually sat down and watched AJ Brown play before. I knew he would be good, but he was dominant out there. He honestly reminded me of TO, without the psychotic personality.
-Hurts was pretty good, but he scrambles way too much and he's an injury waiting to happen. He took a cheap shot today that could've been bad.
-For over 20 goddam years I've had to watch coaches who don't understand the basics of clock management and situational play-calling. It's always infuriated me to no end, and it always will. It just drives me absolutely bonkers.
It's near the end of the half. 1st and Goal at the 4, with 19 seconds and 1 timeout left. What does Sirianni do? He runs the ball, ensuring that he has to use his final timeout. Then he follows that up with a short pass designed to be caught before the goal line. Luckily, it was a bad throw and a worse catch attempt. We settle for a field goal. Absolutely horrible.
And as mentioned, the run-pass ratio. It'll go down as 32 passes and 39 runs, but 17 of those runs were by Hurts, the vast majority called passes. Let's call it 12. So 44 passes and 27 runs. Not a horrible ratio (60/40), but there's no reason to give Sanders the rock only 13 times, especially when he turns that into 96 yards.

I agree on the playcalling.
Hurts had a decent game. Impressed with his use of the middle of the field. He chose to run too often, but he seemingly most always had decent plus yardage on those.
Secondary looked decent, but up front we got owned by an OL missing a starter and having their star center playing hurt. That’s a concern.
It’s a win. I’ll take it. I had this as a loss so hopefully the win next week vs a very good QB in Cousins to stay the course for 11-6.

Yet again, we have (basically) the same shit d line which gets ZERO pressure and now can't stop the run. Was it the scheme where EVERY d lineman was crashing to the middle on EVERY play? No outside containment at all. Love that secondary. Linebackers are way better. Offense looked much-improved. For the first game, I can't complain too much. Hurts looks a lot better. He left the pocket a little early a couple of times but the o line was average at best and really bad at times. Why will they refuse to give Miles the ball more? And why have Scott in on short yardage 3rd downs? Why put your SMALLEST back in for that!!?? AJ Brown looks like TO out there. He is a BEAST. Smith is probably already talking to his agent about getting traded after yesterday. Overall, this was a trap game to begin with and I'll take the win. Add to that it's the first game of the season and, other than the d line, I have very few major complaints.

Gannon better fix that defense or Howie needs to give him his walking papers. There's way too much talent on that side of the ball to play a game like that. First week mulligan with Minnesota coming up. I'm not a Cousins fan, but he, Jefferson and Cook will destroy us if we play like that again. At home, that will be fugly.

Cook is a bigger concern than Jefferson if the Vikings run the draw against us.
But we won in week one, and that is the main thing. For us to keep winning, Gannon needs to find a clue.

It's really pathetic that this d line cannot get pressure and now can't seem to stop the run. I'm thinking, at this point, it has to be the scheme. Seems like every play they had the d line crashing the middle of the line. How many runs bounced outside because there was ZERO containment. How can guys with this much talent NOT get to the QB...especially a stationary QB like Goff!!?? I just cannot understand why any team thought Gannon would be a good HC. I mean, I get it, then stats last year made the defense look better than it was but, do these owners look at video!!??
