It's been rumoured that we won't be exercising the option on his contract and he'll become a FA.
Probably makes sense given that this is a deep draft at DT.

At a 13 M cap value if we kept him, there is no way his production came anywhere near that price tag.
Maybe they let him test the FA market and possibly bring him back on the cheap, but after last years limited playing time and a rich DL class in the draft, maybe we get younger here.

I bet he thinks his value is greater than the Eagles do and that he's in for a surprise, especially as you say with a strong DT draft and his limited play last season. But they love his attitude and if he does flame out as a FA he may decide playing alongside Cox on a prove it deal may benefit him next year. |
