The goal is 10,000 people in attendance. Masks optional. Free burgers and dogs, and maybe a few Fred Flintstone steaks. Bring your favorite side - with a preference toward sweet Amish potato salad. Fuck you, Joe.

Hahahaha! Count me in. But in defense of Dementia Joe, he's only signing and saying what's put in front of him ... when he's able to. I don't imagine it will be long before he either resigns or falls victim to the 25th at which time we'll be honored to call the first woman of color POTUS - the least popular Democrat primary candidate and the least qualified person to ever be appointed by the divine will of the DNC. All hail Empress Harris.
And the courts still refuse to review evidence of election fraud.

It's infuriating. One's right - that's what got my goat. Since when did the government gain the power to tell healthy people what to do? Since last March, I guess. Every time I hear what this politician or that will "allow" us to do, it makes me want to stomp cute innocent little bunnies into a bloody pulp. I've been vaccinated twice and am two weeks out from my second Moderna shot - and yet I still have to wear a mask everywhere I go and *maybe* I can get together with other vaccinated persons on July Friggin' Fourth, as long as there are only a few of us. There's a relatively obscure radio host who says, "The only way we're not getting together with family and friends for July 4 barbeque is if the Memorial Day barbeque goes horribly wrong and we all get into a huge fight." Pretty funny stuff. (I was tempted to claim that line as my own, but said host might not be as obscure as I think. ) To One's point about the courts refusing to hear cases about election fraud - I think most people are missing the point, here. It's not necessarily that vote counting machines were manipulated or ballots were counted twice or that deeply Democratic precincts manufactured the counts - although there are plenty of reasons to suspect all of those things. (Taping masking paper over windows, throwing out Republican poll watchers, making those poll watchers allowed to remain watch from so far back as to be completely ineffective, etc. etc. etc.) The bigger problem was the manipulation of the rules so close to the election by individuals and bodies not Constitutionally authorized to do so. I think it's a nearly unassailable proposition that if it were not for Covid and the resulting changes to our electoral procedures, Joe Biden would not be president today.

I doubt any reasonable view of what actually happened just prior to, during, and just following the election will change anyone's mind, MD. Therein is the significant problem for me. People who hate Trump will never look objectively at the obscene confluence of evidence (as opposed to proof), anomalies, irregularities, discrepancies and illegalities as anything more than the president and his loyal followers being poor losers. To be fair, I'm sure that, should the evidence ever be investigated thoroughly and honestly, there are a large number of Trump's loyalists who would never accept that proven fact showed Trump really did lose. But watching all that is happening since Biden took office, from instantly and robotically overturning every accomplishment of his predecessor by executive order, nominating far left cabinet members, rewarding failed Democrat strongholds via a pork-filled relief package, opening the border, smothering government transparency, and maintaining a strangle hold on the citizenry, all in the name of unity, and all the direct result of the year-long, pre-election legal maneuvering by the Democrats, should at least make any thinking person question the legitimacy of what happened in November - especially because so few courts have agreed to look at the evidence and judge it's merit.
But hey, don't worry, be happy. Our government may let three or four of us eat burgers together while we celebrate our independence.

History repeats itself because human nature never changes. People drunk on power will always act like Marie Antoinette until someone cuts their heads off. When our own little French Revolution inevitably happens, we can watch its progress while hanging out at a cookout.

Human nature is one of the constants of the universe - like acceleration due to gravity. The Good Book says, "The heart of man is evil and desperately wicked, who can know it?" I hope that the French Revolution isn't an inevitability of our American future - as likely as it may appear to be at present.

Sorry I missed you! I hope you had a good time - and I was wondering who broke the chase lounge. Turns out me and the Mrs. went to ChiTown to stay on the Navy Pier and our West Coast boys and their women flew in to hang with us there. So I guess you could say we exceeded our 10,000 person goal for hanging out on the 4th - there were a ton of people out and about in the touristy areas of the city. I guess that was in bad taste after I sent out the invitations and all. In any case, Joe can keep right on F'ing himself.

In any case, Joe can keep right on F'ing himself. And pray he's past child bearing years.
