www.si.com/nfl/2019/02/15/colin-kaepernick-nfl-collusion-grievance-settlement-eric-reidGood legal points are made. Even though there is a nondisclosure, legal experts familiar with these type of cases and settlements have speculated Kapernick gOT $60-$80 million to walk away. Apparently, the NFL was concerned when the independent judge ruled against them and decided there was sufficient evidence of collusion to go further. Its a shame that the crook commissioner couldn't just burn the tapes like he did for the Patriots. Part of me is glad it is going away, part of me is disappointed that the NFL didn't have to air their dirty laundry to show just how they operate. I thought it was interesting when they mention how the NFL didn't have the same confidence to go further like it had in other cases against the players. The article computes his award, had he won, of being $120M, which is 2 years salary at middle of the road Starter money, plus 2x that for punitive. Interesting stuff.

Cowardice and stupidity cloud this entire ordeal.
Cowardice led this asshole to start kneeling one minute after losing his job to Blaine Gabbert.
Stupidity and cowardice led the NFL to do nothing about it, for fear of the media calling them racist, and pretty much every other action they took.
Cowardice led to the NFL keeping him out of the league (yes he sucks, but I'm positive a couple owners wanted the media praise. Someone will likely sign him again, even though he still sucks).
Intelligence finally led the NFL to realize they could get some anti-American liberal to rule against them, causing a huge embarrassment.

Well, if he had nothing on the NFL, they would have won a summary judgement, called it frivolous and threw it out.
But they didn't.
So a settlement it was.

If I read your numbers correctly, why did he settle for about half of what he could have gotten if he had won?

If I read your numbers correctly, why did he settle for about half of what he could have gotten if he had won? Uncertainty of winning if it went to the end. Legal Cost involved with continuing through the various levels of further litigation The probable long wait if the NFL went the distance and went through all the appeals etc. How long did it take the old players to see money from their lawsuit?

So, it was about the money? Well, since nobody will hire him even though he's better than many of the bums currently on NFL rosters, he felt he was owed money because they are keeping him from earning a living doing what he does. So yes, it's always been about money--with this lawsuit.

Based on our previous discussions, you probably aren't the best person to analyze QB talent.

He sat for the Anthem the first time and he was contacted by an American Vet and ex -NFL player, Nate Boyer. They had a discussion that it was DISRESPECTFUL to sit for the anthem, but Nate told him that soldiers take a knee at the graves of their fallen brothers as an act of RESPECT. The people who believe you can't be a patriotic American if you kneel during the Anthem are missing the point and might be happier in an autocratic society where everyone is expected to act and behave in a particular way. What has always made America different is that we have the right, and duty, to protest if we choose to. Consider this, all these NFL players who are labelled as unpatriotic contribute more of their time and money to help the less fortunate than those that criticize them. This whole argument became a thing just because one guy still has a slight to settle because he tried to bully his way into NFL ownership and was shunned by the other owners.

This whole argument became a thing just because one guy still has a slight to settle because he tried to bully his way into NFL ownership and was shunned by the other owners. I'm pretty sure I clearly stated that he started kneeling to draw attention to himself after getting benched for Blaine Gabbert. This is proven by the fact that he never knelt before that. Of course the protest is unpatriotic. That's the whole point of doing it during the national anthem. Some of these guys do good work in their community and that's great - maybe while they're at it, they can remind those they're helping to not commit violent crimes and attack police officers. I'd wager that helps solve the issue they're 'protesting.' Many things make this country great - among them is the fact that people from all kinds of backgrounds can make it here and live the American Dream. And then, after being raised by white parents and making millions of dollars playing a game, they can act like it's the most racist and terrible place on earth, and they don't have to fear persecution. All they have to deal with is other people exercising their rights to criticize them. I can only assume your last sentence is referring to Rush Limbaugh. This is a teachable moment, showing how people like you are perfectly fine persecuting others for their politics, as you have crowned yourself the good side. He was part of a group of investors seeking to buy the Rams many years ago. When he announced this, DeMaurice Smith (head of NFLPA), our favorite race hustlers (Jackson and Sharpton), and many players raised holy hell. Why? Because they don't like his politics. They bullied that coward Goodell into dropping him. It's very telling that you are not only perfectly fine with this, but you feel the need to rewrite history and lie about him being the bully. Then again, that's what socialists do best. Care to weigh in on the Jussie Smollett story?

I thought he was talking about the Heat Miser in the White House when he got shunned when he had the USFL team back in the day.

I didn't know about Limbaugh. I thought he was talking about the Heat Miser in the White House when he got shunned when he had the USFL team back in the day. Yeah, it was big news 10 years ago. I remember that weasel Goodell saying something along the lines of 'the league is about bringing people together' or some shit. You could almost see his puppet strings moving as he talked. I just looked up the history of Trump and the USFL. They played in the spring-summer for a few years, and then the owners of the league voted 12-2 to move their schedule to fall-winter, directly competing with the NFL. Apparently they wanted to force a merger with the NFL once enough market share was taken. Bad business move? Yes. Bullying? Um, obviously not - especially since they won an anti-trust suit. In no way could a rational and intelligent human being think that had anything to do with Trump speaking out against the protests.

They won $3 in that lawsuit, and that includes the $2 part for the triple damage for antitrust awards.
Yeah, they won alright.
I think if you look into it, you will find plenty of hurt feelings toward the NFL from the Prez.

I think if you look into it, you will find plenty of hurt feelings toward the NFL from the Prez. I googled 'Donald Trump war with NFL' and clicked on a link claiming he's had a 40 year beef with them - they mentioned the USFL thing in 1984, then jumped to 2013 (lolz), where he tweeted about barring helmet-to-helmet contact (most of us likely agree with how far the rules have gone). Then he tweeted that Obama should stay out of the Redskins name fiasco (which he should have). Then he tweeted after losing a bidding war about how he didn't want to pay $1.4 billion for the Bills (no shit). He followed this up by another tweet about how he was glad he didn't get the Bills because of the amount of flags and increasing boredom in games (we likely all agree). Then, after being targeted by corrupt scumbag Schneiderman, he tweeted about how Schneiderman would never investigate NFL practices becaus of his corruption (would anyone like to google Eric Schneiderman for us?). If you have Trump Derangement Syndrome, fine. Just say it. But stop acting like he was doing anything other than saying what most patriotic Americans had in mind during the 'protests.' He spoke for the people, and the league was forced to act. It isn't ours or Trump's fault that the league acted so stupidly and with such cowardice.

Who exactly did I persecute? I take it you are a Trump supporter, and I have a simple question. He persecutes everyone who disagrees with him, and as he approaches the 9000 lie threshold after just two years in office, isn't it a little hypocritical to accuse me of doing something I did not do? I am waiting for the truth to come out regarding Mr. Trump, it is always agonizingly slow, not like the lies that get traction so easily. Frankly, I feel sorry for you because I think that this will not play out the way you hope and your anger will just get worse. Lighten up dude, take Shakespeare's advice, there are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in your philosophy.

The Covington kids, I feel sorry for them, because it looks like they are becoming pawns for their parents' political agenda. If I had ever faced down an old man that way and it became public, my old man (a hardcore conservative) would have kicked my ass. Now, these kids are being told that it is OK to sue a newspaper (the one Trump hates the most, coincidentally) for 250M, for what, 'being mean to them?' In their political circle they are now considered heroes, how is that damaging? Please tell me. I wish no one harm, not even you, but look at your posts, your hatred shows through. Trust me, all that pent up anger you hold will eventually destroy you.

I know who you are, as you are all the same. People like you doxxed, sent death threats, and tried to destroy the lives of a bunch of high school kids for the crime of being white and supporting the president. If some crazy looking Indian beating a drum got in my face when I was 17, I likely would have retreated. Instead this young man stood his ground and smiled, though he was clearly uncomfortable. If your old man would've kicked your ass for that, then it's no small wonder how you turned out the way you did. As it turns out, the only hate and racism that occurred that day was from the old bastard beating the drum, and the Black Israelites shouting slurs at those kids. I hope the Washington Post is forced into bankruptcy. It's mortifying what you people will do to advance your narrative. Shame on you.

That's not what I said, I only pointed out that my father told me to show respect to my elders and what would have happened to me, not that they SHOULD have got their asses kicked. The kid was not scared, he was surrounded by a large crowd of his buddies and likely felt emboldened, one old man beating a drum in front of him was scary, really? Or the half dozen Black Israelite Bastards, as you so kindly labelled them for that matter. The fact that his family hired a conservative spin-doctoring firm as soon as it happened makes me wonder how real those alleged death threats actually were. But thanks for showing me how fanatical and single minded you are.
