He tells the story about how after a McNabb left here for Washington, he and Mike Shanahan didnt get along.
It got real bad, that Shanahan would take McNabb out for the two minute drill and put in Rex Grossman. When asked, Shanahan said that Grossman ran the drill a little bit better than McNabb.
Eskin dug a little deeper and found out that McNabb could not remember two plays at once like QBs do. Furthermore, he found out that McNabb could not learn the Skins playbook and he refused to wear the plays on the cheat sheet wrist band like many QBs do because it would make him look bad.
If you remember, McNabb had an extremely low Wonderlic score of 13.
His point was that all the problems we had with two minute drills were not on Andy.

So the guy who was suspended from WIP after being sued for making up a story, has a history of dishonesty, and spent over a decade shilling for Reid in order to maintain access (while shitting on McNabb) all of a sudden has the goods? His Wonderlic was 14 - translating to an IQ of 88, average being 100. Not a genius, but certainly not a drooling idiot. If any crap like this was true, then surely Reid would have far exceeded any success he had with McNabb, no? Oh wait - you mean Reid is actually 3-6 in playoff games not started by #5, while 9-7 with him? I'll just come out and say it - I'm rooting for the Pats today. Perhaps I could get over Reid's boneheaded coaching costing us playoff games by this point, but the constant history revisionism and shitting on the best QB in our history? Fuck it, I hope he loses again. And again. And again. Save those timeouts Andy. Howard Eskin is a piece of shit.

This sounds like an old timer not a new guy named hankey.
I don't know what IQ a 14 translates to, but it is very low in a pool of draft prospects who study for the test and it's not like prospects are a bunch of geniuses. I'm not a fan of Eskin, and he did shill for Reid no doubt, but I don't remember him ripping Five. He used to defend them both ad nauseum back in the day, as you say, for access.
what was the fake story he got suspended for? I forgot about that.
Im not a big Reid fan, but,
Belicheck against anyone but Dallas, and I'm rooting big time against the cheater.
Go Chiefs!!!

I was watching South Park when I created the name. Eskin ripped McNabb slightly less than Charlie Manuel. Claiming he couldn't remember 2 plays or learn a playbook is pure hater shit. Kyle Shanahan has the same track record working with QB's as Howard Eskin does as an honest journalist. He was suspended for claiming Allen Iverson's attorney paid a witness to lie under oath. He was sued, admitted in writing he made it up, and was suspended as part of a settlement. Maybe his next gig will be at CNN. After winning one last year, my football life is complete. I would've been cool with Reid winning one. But articles like this fill me with spite, and now I want to rub it in everyone's face again why he's never won the big one. Hint: it ain't McNabb.

That's right, Iverson. It was much later when he lost his gig after getting bested by Mikey Miss right?
As far as the Reid versus McNabb debate, Andy has coached as a top ten coach, at least, since he left. McNabb was horrible after he left. To me, it looked like McNabb needed Andy more than the other way around.

To me, it looked like McNabb needed Andy more than the other way around. Andy has been Andy - he puts a good product on the field, the talent he gets together wins him 9-12 games per year, and then, because of his boneheaded coaching, he inevitably fails against elite teams in January. McNabb was thrown into terrible situations in Washington and Minny, and obviously he had declined by then. Yet his last year here he was a Pro Bowler and led us to 11-5. Andy hasn't made a serious run at the Super Bowl since he was here, in fact today is his first conference championship game in 10 years. And he'll lose.

Hmmm...The points you bring to bear could just as easily be used to defend Mike's position, "hankey."
Reid did indeed lose, but he didn't seem outclassed or outcoached to me.
At the end of his run here, I was ready to try someone new, but it wasn't because he was a bad coach. He had flaws as a coach, but I have yet to see a coach who doesn't.
In fact, Doug was largely lauded last year for his aggressiveness, and it was a huge reason for our Super Bowl win, but someone who posted here (ahem) couldn't get over the small handful of failed 4th down attempts.
Andy has faults, but they are far outweighed by his positive traits. Plus he's a super nice guy, I don't get the hate.
