So, I'm originally from NJ--which is why I'm an Eagles' fan--but I moved down to Jacksonville about 9 years ago. I follow the Jaguars because I'm here, etc. Wouldn't call myself a fan but, well, I don't hate them.
Anyway, this guy Minshew has really taken the city by storm and, after winning last night, he's like a total cult hero. It's hard not to love the guy. He looks like Uncle Rico from Napoleon Dynamite and dresses like a 1970s pornstar. He actually got an offer from a porn site to dance on camera in only his jock strap. Apparently, he did something like that in college.
He's having a great time playing QB for the Jags. He was a 6th round pick and looked horrible in preseason. With Foles going down, he stepped into the #1 spot. He's played pretty-well when you figure he is a rookie who was picked so late.
Anyway, it's energized the city, which is a good thing. More-importantly, he's just a fun guy. Check out his interview after the game. The NFL needs more fun characters like this and less of the Antonio Brown-type drama...
