Howdy all... visiting Lions fan. Just wondering about some thoughts on the the upcoming game from the opposition.
As for the Lions, we're off to a slow start (shocking, right?) but here's a quickie run down:
Offense: The biggest problem right now seems to be our OL. Taylor, our LT was in the game against the Chargers with an injury. Against the Cards to open the season he was awful, so it's possible he was even dealing with the injury then. We haven't been able to run great and Stafford hasn't have a lot of time in the pocket.
Defense: Our DL, which was supposed to be the real strength of our team, doesn't seem to be making much of an impact at all right now. It's far to say that it took a while for the defense to really become stronger last year and I believe that was kinda true about the Pats defense back when Patricia was the DC there, so maybe that's just a regular thing. The defense over all has been okay, but we were all expecting great things from them given most of the FA money went in that direction, as well as much of the draft.
ST: Martin (Punter) has a pretty questionable opening game, but was solid against the Chargers last week. Praetor (Place kicker) was uncharacteristically bad last Sunday (missed Extra pt attempt and a FG), but he's been good for a long time, so I expect him to be fine. Agnew (primary return guy) has been really questionable. He muffed a punt in Arizona, then fumbled a return against the Chargers (that was thankfully wiped out by off-setting penalties). He was benched for the later part of the Chargers game, though it seems he'll still be the return guy on Sunday (I hope not).
