Please state what your preseason expectations were, and if they changed and how/ why.
My expectations were 11-5, win the East, get to the conference championship and see where we go from there.
Unfortunately, after two games, we don't look as good as I thought.
Our best two units, the OL and DL have played below expectations.
A solid group, the RBs, are not playing as well.
Our weak link, the DBs, are worse than feared.
Our coaching is too pass happy on offense, and can't cover on the D.
The injuries are more than feared early on, and having two DTs go down in an already under performing unit is problematic.
I had them at 1-1 at this point and it was painful watching a winnable L go to the bad.
I don't think I'm ready to reduce their win total yet per se.
However, they have fallen behind the Cowboys in the way we've played so far, so a division title is less likely and with it goes the favored status for playoff wins.
Not jumping off the band wagon, but not over joyed.
It will be tough, but we need to win this game Sunday before we go to GB for a very likely loss.
Need to come up big on Sunday, as short handed as we've been.

Zero chance Wentz gets through the season taking that many hits each week, zero. I had us winning the division off the back of a great oline & dangerous te, wr core but one isn't playing so well while the other mostly watches from the sideline.

I have been saying, if they stay healthy, they'd go 13-3 and Wentz would win the MVP. Of course, after the other night, well, being healthy went out the window pretty quickly.
At some point the team has to ask questions about why so many injuries. I mean, someone rolling on someone's knee, etc. can't be avoided. However, soft-tissue injuries can be avoided. Whatever they are doing--as a team--is not working. Time to look hard at that side of the game for them.
I had Atlanta down as a loss before the season because we never win there. However, the Eagles were clearly a better team than the Falcons but had so many injuries it's almost impossible to overcome them all. Yet, they still should have won that game. The grit they showed is all good but, this is the NFL, it's not about how you play the game, it's whether you win or lose. Gotta win games like that.
I was concerned about the DL and how little pressure they got against an over-matched (on paper) Washington OL. They still got very little pressure on Atlanta and that is a MAJOR problem two games in. Add to that two of your big-name DLmen went down and it doesn't bode well for the defense unless they get their crap together and start pressuring the QB.
It's early in the season so it's hard to say what they'll do but, if these injuries continue, and or are more serious than we hope, this is gonna be a long season.
They really need to roll Detroit this weekend. If they do that--and they don't get more injuries (and some guys make it back), they'll still be in good shape in the NFC East. I'm not convinced about Dallas. They've beaten two really bad teams. Now, they've taken care of business where they should have so no taking that away from them. But they have yet to face a team who has any real threat on offense and a team with any kind of defense at all.
I am definitely concerned about the injuries. That was my major concern coming into the season. I feel like Cox and the other guys on the DL will start to get into a groove and get some pressure but we shall see....

Jesus Mikey...or should I say chicken little? They have hardly played together and lost a game they should have won even with a decimated offense....take a deep breath...

I saw us both as 6-10 to 11-5 teams at the beginning of the season, and I've seen nothing to change that opinion so far.

I saw us both as 6-10 to 11-5 teams at the beginning of the season, and I've seen nothing to change that opinion so far. I meant 10-6 to 11-5. Seriously though, who out there is all that scary? In the NFC there are the Rams, who aren't as good as they were last year and really didn't belong in the Super Bowl last year either. The Saints suddenly got a lot less scary. Bridgewater ain't bad, but he ain't Brees. The Bear's defense is legit, but the words "Trubisky" and "Bust" are starting to be whispered together in Chicago forums. Green Bay has Aaron Rodgers, but who else? Cam Newton is a shell of his former self. After that you get to teams like the Falcons, who are good enough to jump up and surprise a better team, but they probably ain't going anywhere. In the AFC you have the Pats, who are always scary, and Kansas City. After that? The Steelers are kaput. The Texans are way overrated. The Browns haven't proven anything yet. So pretty much a bunch of teams like the Falcons.

Hey all, Eagles fan here came across this board.
I was thinking 11 or 12 wins with Wentz healthy. I still believe that.
Our secondary is going to suck. If we get defensive pressure we'll dominate a lot of games, but if we don't we're going to see nail biters that could end the way they did Sunday night.

Welcome Big Red.
I have to believe our secondary will improve a little.
It can't be that bad can it?
We were expecting big pass rush up the gut. With two DT out and Cox slow off injury, that is a huge concern.
