It seems that overall, fans are encouraged by what they saw last week. They seem more confident in us reaching our goals this year.
I am in the minority, but I am less enthusiastic.
Our offense looked very good and gave confidence that they can meet a top 5 offense expectation I have.
However, our tame pass rush and our pourous secondary, combined with the loss of M. Jackson, are a big concern. We can't cover.
We we're out played by a bad WAS team, and had it not been for an uncontested Kernum misfire, would have likely come out with an L.
I expect us to have to score 32 points to win the game. Not impossible, but not likely. Even though we've held Ryan in check, I see his O lighting our D up for 450+ yards Sunday night.
I hope our offense brings out the heavy artillary!,

Oh I'm concerned about that (lack of) pass rush. My main concern is, even though the starters played minimally/not at all during the preseason, the defensive line should have gotten some pressure on Sunday. They played a bunch of nobodies...at home...in the season opener. The crowd was loud and electric. They came out less than inspired.
I think it's next to impossible to cover people in the NFL with any regularity. The shutdown corner is getting more rare every season. However, we have to do a better job of covering and/or getting pressure. Schwartz's insistence in NOT adjusting has costs us in the past and will cost us against better teams.
I firmly believe this offense is capable of putting up 30+ points a game. If Game 1 is any indication, we'll need to score 40 against the good teams to win a close game.
This Sunday will show us more about the defense. Unfortunately, I'm afraid of what it will show us. Atlanta definitely has a better offensive line and a better offense with real threats at WR. They need to get after the QB and get it done. Cox is doing what he does and taking a double-team. The other guys need to beat their man...period.

I'll start to worry if we're still not getting pressure with our DL after four games. There's too much talent there to read that much into just one game.

My take on game 1 was that Wentz is back in form, fully recovered from last year's slower version. In 2017 he had Torrey as a speed guy, but Jackson is light years better and their chemistry is already evident, and will only get better. Last year there was no speedy WR after Wallace went down, defenses will have to play two deep safeties with Jackson on the field, and that means LBs will be covering Ertz, Goedert, and Aggie...oh boy.
As far as the D, they may not seem elite and definitely create some worries, but since Schwartz arrived the birds have allowed the 6th fewest points in the NFL (don't remember where I read that, but it was recently). If the O can rack up points it improves our D, and that is what will make or break us this year.
I think, with Wentz's lack of PS game time, Pederson played it too conservative in the 1st quarter, Once 11 hit 10 for the first 50 yarder it opened everything up, and something no one has noted yet, Wentz had the biggest come from behind victory in his career.

I am very excited about the possibilities with this offense. Wentz definitely looked spectacular again. If they call good plays, they should be a LOT of fun to watch. I mean, who are you going to cover? Ertz? Goedert? Sproles? Jeffery? Jackson? Aggie? Which RB is going to run the ball? They are just a matchup nightmare for any defense out there. This weekend will be a good test.
