On a penalized late hit. WTF! I really don't mean to pile on, but this is precisely why we wanted to keep our #1 and our real #2. Instead we cut Foles loose - our team was already screwed when Sudfeld was required to take the field, but now?! Wentz better stay healthy. |

There are plenty around getting cut in the next few weeks who are an upgrade.

Doug says they stick with Kessler for now. How will that work for the rest of the preseason assuming we will see very little of Wentz? Cant put Thorson out there too much, he's just plain not ready. I struggle to see how they dont bring someone else in, who though?...

Man, I wouldn't even play Wentz a down this preseason now. I think Connor Cook and Oswieler are still available, but I can't think of anybody else.

You can't be serious! No absolutely NO! The guy is a bum. Biggest fraud in the NFL that I can think of. Just stop. |

Thorson had one of the worst performances I've ever seen last night. That's not hyperbole, he genuinely looked that bad.
That being said, Kessler looked almost as bad, if not just as bad. At least you *could* chalk up Thorson's struggles to nerves, inexperience, first NFL game action. Kessler has played in legit NFL games before and was still atrocious.
This has secondary and tertiary effects for the rest of the offense that will be playing with these QBs. How can the staff evaluate guys competing for spots when they have these two mutts playing QB?

Very good point. Fortunately at our WR/RB positions we pretty much know who's on the bubble and who's getting a spot. The difference will be made on special teams, which thankfully won't have anything to do with our QB's. Now we get to hear about fucking Kaepernick for weeks. |

Not forgetting the extra time the D will have to spend on field (as they did yesterday) because our QB's cant put together a drive.
Anyway they're saying 6 weeks for Sudfeld which isnt the worst news in the world.

I think we can wait the six weeks for Sudfield rather than rush into finding an alternative back up.
Three of those weeks are pre-season, which gives Kessler and Thorson plenty of reps. Maybe one of them will look serviceable.
The other three are Washington, Atlanta and Detroit. As long as Wentz is healthy for those games then the back up doesn't matter, so I'd look to protect Wentz in preseason - no more than two drives against the Jaguars and the first half against Baltimore.
