A week from tomorrow is the first round.
How would you describe your interest in the draft?
A. Full fledge draftnik. I do research, monitor mocks and watch film B. Semi draftnik. I review some others ratings and mocks and will check out some players that some have as Iggs possibilities C. Casual. Will watch the first round, maybe some of day 2 and will check out what others say about the picks we made. D. Meh. Draft picks, smaft picks. Everyone has them. I'll tune in at training camp to see if any are worth my time.
Id say Im a high B, low A. Time through 4/15 is always tight for me, but this week and next I will cram for the exam.
Anyone?

Solid 3, except when it was in Philly of course. I get a kick out of all the energy expended in mock drafts. The real thing rarely if ever matches them, why fret over it, just take a look at each pick we make and see if he looks good.

Meh for sure. I've never understood the fascination with the draft. I don't get excited about a player (unless they're like a Top 5 pick) until they actually make the team.
Then again, I also HATE college football so I know little/nothing about any of the players until they're in the NFL. But I like it like that. So many players don't make it so why invest in them (at all) until they're on the team...

The real thing rarely if ever matches them, why fret over it, just take a look at each pick we make and see if he looks good. That's pretty much where I am. I used to be much more engaged, researching combine results and reading everything I could about the prospects and potential Eagles picks. After the draft I'd read as much as possible about the picks, and still do. I used to watch the draft until they decided it was a big media event and moved it to prime time and spread it out over three days ... I just can't justify devoting that time to something I can read about much quicker. I don't bother much with mocks, they're nothing but opinions of people who have no clue what a team will actually do and normally don't seem to know what a team even needs. Waste of time.

B/C.
I take an interest in the mock drafts to see which positions (not players) the pundits are guessing we might be interested in.
And I like to check our grades and reports on the actual picks.

I casually pay attention to who we pick when it happens, more to see if we're addressing a position of need or not. I don't see much of a point in getting emotionally invested in particular players - 31 other teams may want them, and none of them are proven at the NFL level anyway. I'm obviously most interested in our 1st rounder(s), past that I don't care much until they hit the field.
Once every few years I'll hang out with a few friends who are having a 'draft party' just for the hell of it, but I honestly think doing so is almost as childish as having a 4/20 party.
Happy 4/20!

Because someone doesn't care about the draft, that somehow makes them less of a fan? SMH....
