was watching Quick Slants yesterday and B. Brooks and D. Gunn started talking about Wentz upcoming deal. Each said matter of factly that Prescotts deal will be for more than Wentz because he's played better and played more.
I was shocked.
Does anyone else see it this way?
I assumed Wentz deal would be on a higher level.
That being said, I don't sign Wentz this year. I want to see how he does this year to clarify his value.

Some people still think Prescott is a better QB. I don't see it. If I'm the Eagles I'd prefer to extend him earlier rather than later. Assuming he continues improving as he has, he'll just cost more the longer they wait. If I'm Wentz, I wait so I prove I'm worth more. It's a tough spot either way.

I'm with Rick - getting him extended this year will save some cap space over the term of the deal compared to waiting. It means that Wentz is setting the market for the likes of Goff, Mahomes and Prescott rather than following them.
As regards Prescott getting more, I can see that happening simply because the market for a young starting QB will be set by Wentz's early deal, despite the fact that most neutrals would take Wentz if they had the choice.

Am I wrong that when Prescott lost Elliot he sucked but when Wentz had no running game his stats and the team's performance remained about the same?

You're wrong about being wrong - that's what happened. And in a fresh development ( per Yates via Lawlor) Could be for this year, or the cap space can be rolled forward to next season. Either way, something big is in the works and it's pretty obvious what that will be. It's just a question of when and how much.

Most likely the obvious extension of 11, but could also include a trade as he suggests.

Look at it from an outside perspective. Prescott has never missed a start and has a career 96 passer rating. Wentz has missed 1/3 of the last 2 years, and has a career 92.5 passer rating. Oh, and his backup went 4-1 in the playoffs and won a Super Bowl.
In all likelihood Prescott will get the bigger contract. I'd like to see them get an extension done now only because they've clearly put everything behind him. We're going to win or die with Wentz for years. Normally I would say wait until mid-season or even after.

From a negotiating perspective you have a good point. I'd take Wentz over Dak annny day.

Wentz will likely get the bigger one, and here's why...
Dak's inaccuracy at random times is a well covered subject with Dallas fans. Stephen Jones knows this, and has already publically stated that any deal with Dak is going to have to be team-friendly. Not to mention, Cooper and Elliot are also due contracts and they are arguably bigger cogs in some eyes. This puts pressure to send money their way, while the fan's concerns about Dak give them more room to play hardball, and maybe even let him walk if they have to.

Dak isn't a bad QB, and with your other weapons, is good enough if everything else is working. IMO, he's not a QB who can lift the team when guys like Cooper and Elliot are held in check by a defense. I think Wentz can do that if he's healthy.

I totally agree and why I would take Wentz over Dak any day and twice on Sundays (or Mondays or Thursdays or Saturdays...). Dak showed he is not a guy who can take a team without big weapons and be successful when Elliot was out and now that his offensive line has not been as good as what he had his first season. He strikes me as a very capable QB who does a fairly good job of protecting the ball. Although, when he throws an interception, he seems to throw multiple interceptions in a game. Almost as if he's trying to make up for the previous interception(s) by pressing and forcing the issue. He's absolutely a starting QB in the NFL and should get paid fairly-well.
