Welp, not sure how they did it but they have killed the season. Too many holes. Too many problems. Not enough answers....

This season is eerily reminiscent of 1981:
Start fast after coming off a Super Bowl loss and go 7-1.
Face the Cowboys at home and blow an 11-point lead in the 4th quarter (this current team came within 2 yards by CeeDee Lamb of doing the exact same thing).
Anointed as one the best teams in the NFL as they bounce back and win their next two in dominant fashion to go 9-2.
Then the wheels fall off as the offense sputters..
They lose 4 straight (scoring 43 total points) and they limp into the playoffs while the Cowboys pass by them and win the division.
First round of the playoffs..upset by the Giants as they quickly fall behind while a slow RB, Rob Carpenter, and a scrub QB, Scott Brunner, chew up their vaunted defense.
Vermeil burns out the next year.

The funny thing is we still probably get the #2 seed and the division. Then we win at home against the Rams or the Seahawks, win again at home against the Cowboys or Bucs, then travel to SF and get absolutely spanked.
So yeah, it's kind of over - but Philly style. We still have to wait over a month to actually see it. Enjoy.

Yep, it's over. Question is, how is it fixed? There's plenty of talent on the offense, and some promising potential on the defense.
My biggest worry is coaching. I doubt Johnson is in jeopardy, even with all the chatter that teams knew what they were going to do before they did it, which seems pretty obviously game planning, play calling and maybe some tell in execution. I think they'll give him another year to see how he grows. Wasn't Steichen demoted in San Diego the year before he came here? Not sure. They just never seemed to be in rhythm this year.
Sirianni shoulders blame for hiring rookie coordinators and not having the key to keep things moving in the right direction. Again, I doubt he's in trouble unless the team gets away from him again next year. The last couple of weeks the team didn't seem motivated - frustrated, yeah, but they were bitch-slapped twice in a row. Both lines seemed to regress, players started chirping at each other.
I never thought Desai had the demeanor for a DC. I don't blame the problems all on him because of injuries, but he came across as a smart, nice guy but a lot of defense is attitude. He said the right things, but no fire.
Load the draft and FA with defense and be first in line to hire a proven DC.

I mean, at this point, I'm not sure they're winning any of these games but they can't lose all 3...can they?

I don't know, if they don't start looking better, I wouldn't be surprised if they look at Siriani. I mean, Lurie has pulled the plug on coaches before. And this is exactly how the team looked at the end of Andy's and Kelly's tenures. Unmotivated, sniping at each other, etc. The defense needs talent on the back end. Bradberry has just aged out and Slay is about to and I'm just sick of his, "I did my job..." attitude. No place for that...especially for a captain! I don't know how this happened but this is ugly with no sign of getting better at this point.

Remember the worst team in the league played much better vs TB than we did. We weren't worthy of a SF spanking. I've never witnessed a more heartless, gutless, lazy, entitled effort in any Eagles playoff game ever. That loss to the NYG in '81 was a tale of momentous effort compared to this performance. Tackling is 80% heart and effort and 20% technique. We had none. Coverage is skill. Tackling is heart and effort. I've never witnessed a bigger group of pussies in my Eagle fandom. That's coaching. They are either coaching it that way or they allow it to happen. Fire all coaches not named Stoutland. Here's a question for you all. We had no answer for the blitz. Game after game after game. We go empty back field to ensure one of the blitzers get home scott free. Our WR's don't run hot routes. Our QB, CW 2.0, doesn't call audibles. CW 2.0 refuses to throw in the middle of the field, like he did in 2021. CW 2.0 runs slower in year 4 like CW 1.0 did. And get this from Tim McManus, only 5.2% of our throws were between the hash marks. No wonder why Goedert had words with CW 2.0. Versus the blitz, the middle is your friend. Who's fault is that? Coaching, CW 2.0, non QB players fucking up? It's basic high school adjustments and we don't use them. This blows!

Coaching, CW 2.0, non QB players fucking up? It's basic high school adjustments and we don't use them. This blows! Yep, coaching is the main culprit. It sure looked like the players gave up, probably because they knew the coaches were overmatched and unable to "put them in position to succeed." Some key players are standing up for Sirianni, but it's his job to make sure the coaches are preparing the players, putting them in the right positions, and making the adjustments. So either he hired the wrong coaches or failed at his job. I don't agree with your characterization of Hurts as a Wentz clone. What were his comparable stats from last year? Seems to me we were all talking about how much he had improved in all those things last year. He loses his QB coach to a promotion and more importantly loses his OC. If it were just him you'd have a better argument, but when multiple players regress at the same time it seems like the problem is once again, coaching. I don't think Nick gets fired. I'm not sure he shouldn't because he regressed in many of the things he was so good at as CEO. Then again as a young coach maybe he should have the chance to self-correct and maybe he tried doing too much because he saw his coordinators weren't cutting it. I don't think Johnson demonstrated a feel/ability to respond to what the defenses were doing. If he was doing what Nick told him to do then it's Nick, but I don't get why Nick would tell him to stop doing what worked last year. Maybe Hurts wasn't getting hard coaching because the guys responsible for that were new in their responsibilities. Desai struggled from the start but was surprisingly often good at making halftime adjustments. If Sirianni really did make the change it was a panic move - maybe the DC could have evolved. I think Nick gets another year and Stoudt obviously stays. Other than that let two new coordinators decide what their systems are and who their assistants are. I wonder if the players comment honestly on their coaches during exit interviews.

This was before we won against the Giants on Christmas. I clearly said I bet on the Bucs straight up and won. Carson Wentz had a shitty work ethic and attitude in the year after we won it all. He completely regressed, took stupid sacks, and took forever to throw the ball. Hurts, from everything I've seen and heard, is the opposite. He's "regressed" but not his fault. It's all coaching, and the main culprit is Brian Johnson, and by extension Sirianni. It's hard to believe we downgraded at DC, but if Patricia is still here next year I might just not watch.
