Trump was terrible at choosing his administration. Kelly may be being straight, no doubt I can see Trump saying those things, but that's one of his biggest weaknesses. He has no filters and no decorum. I have to wonder if he meant those things the way they came out, maybe he did, maybe he didn't. Even if he didn't, it's no excuse and a major reason why he should never be POTUS.
It matters. Does it matter as much as a man who sells influence to foreign nations and who consciously (if that's possible) makes decisions that will clearly undermine and decimate his country? Why do we have our choices for leadership restricted to people like this at most all levels of government?

See, I don’t get it.
Even knowing that you are not a Trumper, and you have stated numerous times you wish he would not run, you had a very popular reaction to my question.
Your knee jerk reaction was to say that he chose a bad administration, as if if the administration was better, than this wouldn’t have come out. As in it was the administrations fault.
No.
The asshole said it because the asshole believes it.
My teammates are more to the right of most politically and we have an active chat with much of it being political. Two of the nine of us served after graduation. One other is active in the TAPs program and very active in civilian military matters. Two have son in laws that are active. All in all, much more military involvement than yours truly. Very little reply to this question in general. One guy said that Jesus was criticized in his life too. Yep, Trump and Jesus. I kid you not. His Dad was WW2 Vet.
I think Trump has it right. He could kill someone in broad daylight at Times Square and the Republicans would still vote him in.
The fact that only Christie has the balls to criticize him out of the seven left is truly the pussification of America.
And then the other side has a fucking senile crook who is protected by the bought media. He also is protected from Kennedy.
We really do deserve our fate.
As Jefferson said, the government you elect is the government you deserve.
As John Adams said, liberty cannot be preserved without a general knowledge among the people who have a right and the DESIRE to know.
The right is failing from a lack of desire to know about Trump. The left have no desire to know about Biden’s.
There is no real debate and no viable choice.
On one hand, if you believe in an honest President , liberty, free speech and an independent press, DOJ and FBI, you can never vote for Biden. On the other hand if you believe in an honest President, sacrifice of oneself interest for the greater good, or the ability to lead, you can never vote for Trump.
One I share your dismay at our lack of choices. We need Trump and Biden to both, somehow, some way, not be able to run for office.

Your knee jerk reaction was to say that he chose a bad administration, as if if the administration was better, than this wouldn’t have come out. As in it was the administrations fault. Do you believe, for one second, that what we see in our leaders is who they are? Any one? You know, just as I do, that we are provided with an image of the person, not the real person. Trump's an asshole, but the vast majority of our elected officials are not nice people but are portrayed as honest, family loving, caring individuals. That image is protected by their staff, and in many cases by revisionist history. Joe Biden is a perfect example, but we can see the same thing in most elected if we care to look. Trump is the outlier, not only because his people turned on him, but because the deep state and the media are relentless in their attacks and with their lies. Maybe if they did the same things to all politicians that they do to Trump our political landscape may improve. No, my friend, maybe it's your knee-jerk reaction. If I'm being consistent (hopefully I am) I don't support Trump, I don't defend him, I don't excuse him, I'm outraged that he is treated differently and that good, honest people don't feel the same way.

If you ignore everything bad that was said about Trump by any Democrats or opinions of people in leftist media outlets and only listened to those people who served in his administration, you would get a very accurate picture.
That is an ugly picture they paint.
Ignore everyone else and just listen to them.
That is what’s eye opening to me.
Has he gotten unfair treatment? Yes, for sure when compared to the protected party.
But let’s ignore all of that. Consider it full of shit.
Just listen to the people who know him best.
Even his family has checked out.
If you asked my college teammates about me and these guys I spent four years with, and the overwhelming majority say I’m unfit to lead, then there’s truth to that, especially if they happen to be of similar political leaning.
We got to get rid of him.
Someone else needs to step up.

This is among the more infuriating aspects of Trump Derangement Syndrome, and our despicable media.
Frankly, if you think he said that a military cemetery was "full of losers," you're a moron. A moron so completely blinded with hatred for the guy that you want to believe anything you hear about him to back up your beliefs. That claim is just so completely outrageous that it doesn't even warrant a response, other than to call you that - and to point out that it comes from a hit piece from "The Atlantic," a communist rag with less credibility than the "National Enquirer." Written, of course, by Jeffrey Goldberg, who is slightly to the right of Karl Marx. No source was named of course.
As far as his "hiring" goes, yes, he completely surrounded himself with Swamp creatures, career bureaucrats, traitors, etc. That's on him, and he's paying for it. 95% of them are all but tripping over themselves to pile on, in order to cement their own futures in Washington. That's why it's called a "swamp."
How many completely made up stories have to be debunked before you stop believing them? This is why democracy always fails - because we have a completely uninformed and misinformed public, who can't be trusted to use their brains to come to a rational conclusion. And that's not even counting the half of the population with a sub-100 IQ. Infuriating.

You won’t believe me, but so what.
Here’s where I was about two weeks ago.
I was resigned to having to vote for whoever the Republican nominee was, even if it was the narcissist criminal asshole.
Why?
Because of among other things:
1. Twittergate and the suppression of free speech 2. The bought and paid for media 3. The hiding of Bidengate and the blatantly manner of it 4. Russia gate and how no one ever paid for that.
I figure those are all things that are more dangerous to our democracy than four more years of a narcissist criminal asshole
Then I go to see what’s being said about Trump by those who worked for him, expecting not great things based on tidbits I’ve heard over the months. That article pops up. Unlike you, I read as much as I can from all sources. I don’t feel threatened from reading an opinion from “the other side”. I don’t assume that every left source is a communist rag. I know that if you read left or right sources, they both slant shit in a dishonest way. The Atlantic is not a favorite of mine. But here’s the deal. I need to read those sources because you won’t get a right wing source to do that interview. It doesn’t meet their agenda, just like pro Trump remarks doesn’t meet the left agenda. Why you don’t know this, I guess you’re scared.
The question is not who had the balls or agenda to print the comments. It’s whether or not those comments are accurate. You’re not going to find those reported in right sources.
Sadly, all media is agenda driven these days. Look at what the frauds of Fox ran into. Just like CNN. A bunch of paid off liars.
I’ll eventually probably get around to this, but research all things that those closest to Trump have said about him. What did they say to the press? What did they say in books. What did they say to the J6 committee under oath. You may have to read articles from communist rags but it’s a shame there’s dishonest reporting on both sides.
If you have time, do that. Find out what those closest to him have said.
So now I hear that No Labels is gaining ground. Maybe Kennedy joins in. It’s early. We’ll see.
It’s just so difficult when only one of the seven Republican candidates will even criticize Trump, in a scenario where he leads by a boatload and they need to make up so much ground. Everyone is scared. Trump is right. He could kill a person in the middle of Time Square and he’d still be elected as the Republican candidate.

You're right, I don't believe you. You've frothed at the mouth over Trump for so long, it's ridiculous you would try to lie to a stranger on the internet and say you were going to vote for him. You aren't, and never were. I've made my position on him clear, and that I also won't vote for him. You can re-read all my posts if you like. The Atlantic is a communist rag, filled with some of the most despicable people in "journalism." It's also owned by Steve Jobs's whore. And I'll say it again - if you think Trump actually said a military cemetery was "full of losers," you're a moron. That's a completely over-the-top caricature of his rhetoric that only a frothy-mouthed lunatic could possibly even entertain. Even the Democratic Party didn't dwell all that much on it, apart from condemning it once it hit the public. Further, his aides at the time vehemently denied it. Including some of the ones piling on him now, because it's become convenient for them. Yet further, John Kelly himself, now implying he DID say it, continued to serve under him after the alleged incident. Yes, a Marine Corps general listened to a guy call dead soldiers losers, and just shrugged it off. Even now, as everyone is piling on for their Washington futures, Kelly didn't actually say he said that, just implied it. And no, there isn't "dishonest reporting on both sides." 95% of the media is communist propaganda. Almost all of the rest is milquetoast "centrist" reporting, such as the channel that conspired to get rid of Tucker Carlson for rocking the boat. The time for No Labels was 20 years ago. DeSantis has criticized him plenty, but clearly you haven't paid any real attention to the race. Not that you have the ability to realize this, but that crap made up in The Atlantic is precisely why he still has so much support. All his base sees is an irredeemably corrupt media, protecting an irredeemably corrupt government, that will go to great lengths to destroy and smear anyone who gets in the way. And they're right.

Why would so many of the Republicans who served under Trump be so quick to turn on a man who is leading the primary polling by 30+% points?
In their profession, hangers on is the way to go.
Now if he was getting squashed by the competition I could see that. These guys are always looking to hitch their wagon to a “winner”.
It may be exactly what it looks like.
Those who witnessed him closest know what they saw and heard.
You think those people who were in the trenches with him and saw him be mistreated and saw the presidency derailed would all of a sudden be proponents for the other side?
Not sure if you’re naive or don’t have the ability to comprehend..
Every time someone says something against Trump, they are always lying. He is always wronged.. Please.
Yep, I was never a Trumpster at all. But he had some very good policies.
If I remember correctly, you’re critique of him was right up there with mine, albeit for different reasons.

Yep, I was never a Trumpster at all. But he had some very good policies. If I remember correctly, you’re critique of him was right up there with mine, albeit for different reasons. All of his remaining loyalists are being indicted, charged, and threatened to "flip." He's not the president. The FBI raided his home. He has several trials about to start with dozens of charges. If your goal is to stay afloat in Washington, cash out and serve The System. It's really not that hard to figure out. I deal in facts and logic. Our entire government, our entire media, and our intelligence agencies colluded to smear and bring down a sitting president, claiming he was an "agent of Russia" - during his entire presidency. People like you barked like a seal the whole time, and it turned out to be completely made up. So no, when an obviously outrageously false claim comes from a communist rag, without a source, I'm skeptical. So is anyone rational.

I've found that the "right wing" media has proven to be far more accurate in their reporting than the left-leaning media. I don't think there's even a question. It's prudent and wise to do as you suggest, Mike, but time has repeatedly proven the left to be unrepentantly wrong and/or deceptively slanted. Even though I find I can most often trust the alternate (right-leaning) news, I feel a lot more comfortable believing them after reading the other side and applying some common sense logic before arriving at an opinion.
It's also instructive to listen to (or read) what the left tells us their opponents are doing. More often than not, that turns out to be precisely what they are doing. Trump was impeached for what Biden did in Ukraine. Rarely, if ever, do we see the same from the right - I'm open to being proven wrong though.
That said, the deep state (administrative state) is real. It's not hard to see long-time leftist heroes instantly become villains when they divert from the "accepted" agenda/rhetoric. Think Elon. It seems those people either end up cancelled, jailed or they remarkably change loyalties and pursue opportunities in an arena they ostensibly were opposing while working for the guy they're trying to execute.
This is where common sense logic comes in. If those who have turned on Trump are being honest, why did they work for him in the first place, and why were they silent while employed? I think it's logical to assume robbie's perspective makes sense ... I also think his position would be better received if his presentation were a bit less acerbic and confrontational. Nonetheless, what does it say about a person who is ostensibly serving the interests of his country via his boss yet remains silent when he witnesses him as a demon, then later piles on with the haters? I'd say the "character" meter is scraping bottom and the person's credibility should be seriously questioned.

Fair enough. 8 years man. It's been over 8 years since his escalator speech. I soured on using kid gloves a long time ago. Believing that he called dead soldiers in a cemetery "losers" requires hatred and derangement of the man that I don't care to entertain nicely. I'm just enjoying life in Florida. Philly must feel like a Kurt Russell movie by now.
