i was pretty confident that we would be able to at least make it a real close game and possibly win.
i heard that teams who rest their starters in week 17 and have a bye, are 4-6 in this game. That gives us hope.
Then I hear that Drew Brees is 5-0 in the SuperDome in the playoffs. Ouch!
Then I do a bit of research and see that have AVERAGED 37.8 points per game.
Brees passer ratings in that game: 96, 125, 106, 134, 115, for a 116 AVERAGE !
AND 12 TD and 1 INT
We have to find a way to get to Brees.

At the start of the season I'd have taken reaching the divisional round. After that the competition is so tight that there is no point in predicting.
So I'm happy we're here. Not confident about our chances tomorrow, but we can win if we play well enough and we're not dependent on the Saints having a 'mare.

I'm with Eyrie - we're playing with house money at this point. I wonder if the players feel the same way and if that's "liberating" in the sense that they can play "loose" and perhaps even puts them in a better position to win? I'm looking forward to watching the game, but won't be heartbroken if they lose. (But will be super pumped if they win!)
How long has it been since a Conference Championship was between two division rivals?

Worried is not how I feel, as I feel they acquitted themselves already for the woeful start to this season. And as far as the ride, maybe this year's, but I suspect we got something special that is just getting started. I also am still convinced Wentz is the future, and after watching my NFL Films recap of last season (specifically the first 11 games which was a Wentz highlight reel) I reminded myself how spectacular he was. I give him a Mulligan for this year, his rehab to come back in less than 12 months was heroic, but he had not yet regained his full athleticism. So, even though his passing game improved, he lost the ability to escape and make those big plays, and that had the most negative effect on his results. A full off season without rehab and the chance to work on his football skills through OTAs, TC, and the preseason will likely produce an even better version of Wentz than we saw last season. Foles is a very good QB, but he is a pocket passer that takes way too many hits, always has. He has been highly successful in the last two years by coming in late in the season, healthier and less beat up than a 16 game QB, but can he do it for a full season?
Bottom line, no matter how tomorrow goes, I am all in on this team. The way Doug, who was just as responsible for the slow start, turned it around and got them back into the playoffs tells me we have a damn fine coach. Last year was not a fluke, and he learned from early season mistakes, so I expect him to get better from this year's roller coaster ride of a season.
So my advice, enjoy tomorrow either way, as this is not an end, just a pause in the action. Nine months from now we get to do it all over again.

Regardless of what the outcome is today, the world is still good.

Win or lose, we're still the reigning SuperBowl champions until February 3.
