www.foxsports.com/stories/nfl/nick-bosa-claims-49ers-showed-blueprint-to-stop-jalen-hurts-eaglescant find the link but Greg Cosell backed up these claims. there were guys open all day, which makes sense when you have seven seconds to throw the ball. I heard this yesterday. Hurts first two years he was slowest in the league of getting rid of the ball. last year he was 14th. this year, last again. read the defense see the field. Go thru progressions Move up in the pocket throw the fucking ball i hope they are giving him some tough love after watching that piss poor performance. He needs to stop his regression and fix it now.

Yeah, and the Browns showed us all the blueprint on how to beat the 49ers 19-17. Too bad we didn't watch the tape.
I've never seen this amount of overhype over a regular season win. Every non-Eagles fan in the country is acting like we're toast. Unreal.
Hurts had a couple really bad plays where he obviously held on way too long, but it's not something I've noticed over the course of the last two years. I think we just had a really bad game. It also doesn't help that he's had 3 different OCs in his now 4 years in the league. If anything, his progression has been fantastic considering that. It's valid to point out that we've been playing from behind a lot this year, and have relied a lot more on the pass. We'll see how they bounce back in Dallas.

I understand why we tend to over-react with our history. But I'm not as concerned about him as I am about what he's being coached to do. Since nobody is saying anything, we are all just speculating on what's going on. But yes, horrible loss for sure. Not good for the ego but they stil control their destiny. Win tonight and all is almost forgotten. Even if they lose, they're still in a good position to win the division and still not in the worst spot to try and win home field advantage although we'll need help. Dude on the radio last week trying to say this is Hurts' biggest game of his career. I'm like, huh? He did play in the Superbowl just a few months ago. And this game doesn't decide anything. The media just loves to go overboard and we eat right into it. SMH...

Let's hope the Seahags have a good day today. And when texting first started and shortcuts like "SMH" came into popular usage, my wife didn't know what it meant (neither did I, at the time) so she asked one of our teen boys. He said, "I don't know . . . Smell My Horse?" Now I can't see that abbreviation without first thinking "Smell My Horse" and chuckling before correcting it in my head. (I know. My shrink thinks we need to up our sessions to three times a week, too.)

What am I missing? Aside from the loss of the Seumalo, the offense's talent level is either unchanged or arguably a tad better after replacing Sanders with Swift. But their play is considerably worse. Some of that undoubtedly has to do with a harder schedule, but the system supposedly hasn't changed, only the coordinator. Hurts has regressed, but how much of that has to do with the game planning and play calling? Not only did they have a change of coordinators on defense, but they lost some key players and have had some key injuries. Still, the 49ers bullied them and then the Cowboys bullied them. With the number of veterans on the team, the coaches should have easily had them at least standing toe-to-toe with the Cowboys. More than anything else, I'm worried about the coaching.

You are not missing anything. The offense, with all of the key players from last year other than Sanders, has regressed. Swift is just as good as Sanders so that is not an issue. I don't think it is the schedule. It is execution and play calling. Regardless of the plays being called, Hurts already has hit career highs in INTs and lost fumbles. There are still four games to go. That is on him and him alone. I have not done a dive into the numbers yet but just from observation, it appears that the Eagles have become more pass happy than last year. Often rushing attempts are influenced by having a big lead so I will take some time and try to compare last year's 1st half rushing stats with this year's. My guess is that we are not running the ball nearly as often. At the end of the season I like a 60/40 split, roughly speaking. This to me is a key reason why both the offense and defense are not as good as last year. The offense is not sustaining drives and the defense is spending too much time on the field. The best way to protect a weak defense is to keep it on the sidelines. An effective running game does that.

Absolutely nothing justifies putting up 6 points besides terrible coaching. This offense should score 6 points per quarter without trying.

AJ drops a ball he normally catches. Slim Batman drops two he normally brings in. One ball just a half a hand too far in the endzone to Slim Batman. But those fumbles just kill the team. They need to protect the ball. Was pathetic.

While I agree that Hurts has had some struggles the Coseell/Bosa stuff is silly. It is as silly as the "open WRs" stuff. There are always open wrs, or nearly always, because of progressions. If you pass on option 1 he can be open after you turn to the opposite side of the field. Hurts needs to play better but it is the OC and the HC. The numbers don't lie. They do not use the middle of the field, they rank near the bottom in the league(30th) in its usage, yet they are one of the top teams in efficiency(8th in YPA and 6th in success rate) when they do. Same thing with RB screens (4th in success/28th in usage). Slants? 7th in success rate but 22nd in usage. Curls? the worst...FIRST in success rate and 28th in usage. The O Line has been pretty mediocre for awhile now. They need to look in the mirror.
