www.bleedinggreennation.com/2019/6/18/18683623/philadelphia-eagles-training-camp-start-date-one-practice-publicSo so now we're down to only one training camp practice and instead of being free, they are charging a mandatory $10 contribution to a charity of their choice. I went a few years ago for Wentz rookie year. Truth be told, they did so little, that it was disappointing to a Lehigh veteran like myself. My sons weren't interested in going back, as they also went the first year they had the open practices at the Linc. still sad that the access is even more limited. I mean, you can't walk down the street for two practices anymore. Not pissed, just mildly annoyed.

I remember going often to West Chester. It was much better than Lehigh IMO, because you could get up close to both the practices and the players.

I might have cared as a kid. Frankly, I mildly pay attention to the draft and start watching with the first preseason game. This isn't much different than watching a guy do bench presses for me.
For fans who regularly do this, they'll vote with their wallets. If enough people give the Eagles the finger, next year it'll be free. This almost reminds me of the 'hoagie ban' back in the day.

The bigger issue is they only have 1 open practice...the one they want to charge, er ah, collect money for charity. I'm ok with collecting money for charity but I'd prefer if it wasn't a, "requirement," if you know what I mean. If they had a day or some days they designated as charity days but they still have other days where you can just go in as they used to allow, that's cool.
But, in the grand scheme of things, it's not a huge deal as I don't believe it's a HUGE thing to go watch them practice.
The Eagles and Seattle are the only teams in the NFL where they don't offer any free practices any longer.

This practice thing in modern times cracks me up.
There's a local kid who is an NFL player who played at a top local high school and a top 50 division one school.
He says the high school practices were much harder than his college practices and his pro practices are a joke compared to his college practices. Go figure.
Wishing they had two-a-days again. Maybe then, the practices would be at least as tough as college!!
